Yep I’m right there with you in agreement. Feels like Michigan has their pieces now if those two keep it up. Get Teske and Zavier back to normal levels and they’re in business.
Idk he had Pritchard on lock until late in the second half.
Sometimes you gotta give a kid his due, he got his mojo going. Eli was forcing tougher looks though. Who knows maybe x was gassed.
What’s frustrating is that Simpson played great D on Pritchard for about 35 minutes and then suddenly someone flipped a switch and everything changed. 19 points for Pritchard in the second half and OT and I don’t think any of them came until that late run.
On another note, James Harden is a bad influence! Zavier legit did what Harden does every game (which is a travel).
It’s about blending the pieces now. I think that machine we saw in the Bahamas still exists. X just needs to go back into his Jason Kidd bag and the offense will flow. Too many guys have now shown they can hurt other teams for this up fail.
We got a legit eight guys that could roast you now.
I said this exact thing when it happened. That’s a legit 3, no travel in the NBA when Harden does it. Harden drives me crazy
100% agree! And that’s the issue when the NBA refuses to call this. Prime example today.
Yep yep agreed. And I think X is just trying too hard right now. Trying to do too much and getting sped up as a result. If he settles back into his normal self, game on this year.
100%. X is trying to do too much and put the team in his back. He needs to settle down and focus on the things he does well and it will be best for the team as a whole.
The concerning thing for me is that Michigan had to dig out of such a big hole at home. We’ve seen nothing to indicate they can do that on the road. I know Oregon is a good team but I don’t think they’re that good. It’s a game you absolutely should win and while the comeback effort was valiant, it’s moot if you don’t finish the job.
A top 10 team wins this game. Agree, we earned the high ranking, but have since given it back. Probably more in the 10-14 range right now.
X had him on lockdown until near the end of the second half and then, I think, X wore down a bit, and Pritchard did what Pritchard does, he just took over.
I’m sure this has been mentioned on here, I’ve only read about the last dozen or so comments, but you just can’t get down 16 points against a quality team, a ranked team, home or away, and expect to win. But we almost did. We scratched and clawed and kicked and bit and yelled and screamed and played our tails off, and we got back in the game and we took the lead for a bit. We hit some shots, too, finally, which always helps. But you expend SO much energy when you have to come back like we did. It can wear you out. I think X was a bit worn down over the last bit of the second half and the overtime.
Oh, and we made a few critical mistakes along the way, that cost us a point or two, but I won’t talk about those. I’m sure the coaching staff will, though, behind closed doors.
Absolutely. And I’m confident he will.
I, too, am confident in X. The kid is a bulldog. He is a great leader and a winner. Imagine what we’d be saying if that last hook off the high glass had fallen. The kid would be a hero. He sure ain’t no one’s goat. I’m confident in X.
West Coast team, 3 hour difference comes in and has a big lead on us to start the game. It has to be us with the big start, especially after the dud performance against Illinois.
Can’t be down 16 in our home as the #5 team after a bad performance.
We killed our own momentum at times with key mistakes.
Have to win this game, because right now it looks like every road game is a gonna be a “life’s tough on the road” thing with this group.
I don’t know if he will. X is such an alpha that he believes he needs to be the one to take over when the team needs it. Michigan literally loses every game that he plays bad. It says something about something, but it doesn’t need to be that way. He doesn’t need to score for this team to win. He just needs to distribute and not turn the ball over and they will win a lot of games.
But if X isn’t trying to score he becomes much easier to guard. And everyone else becomes a lot easier to guard. Ala the Illinois game.
I know it’s feelingsball but I kinda wish Michigan would drop out of the top-25 so they could regain a little of that edge and attitude of being the hunter rather than the hunted.
He took the most shots on the team in the Illinois game? Not sure what your point is from a game where he took the most shots when Livers, Teske and Eli shot 17/29. He cannot be the #1 option or this team is not going to be very good.
May have been instructed not to leave time for an Oregon answer on the other end.
