Game 1: Appalachian State at Michigan Open Thread

Michigan started the second half with a three guard look: Simpson, Brooks and DeJulius at the 1-2-3.

Quick 2 fouls and now Livers has 3. Also DDJ got the 2nd half start with Nunez having 3.

Nice to see we have some OOB plays instead of just throwing it to the backcourt.

Teske ongoing development thing to watch. Got 6ā€ on every defender tonight. Knew Juwan would encourage post play more. No brainer.

Livers could use a little better touch finishing at the rim. If he continues to attack all season it’ll come.

Pretty fast ball movement and transition. Guess I’m late in noticing

Do it young man! Career high

DDJ moves like his body is stuck in quick sand. At times he doesn’t look agile with his mechanics.

Eli the man.

Man I just think this is so awesome for Eli. I’m just happy for the kid. After two rough years and his coach leaving, he could have decided to leave the team and it would have been totally justified. Now he gets an opportunity for a huge role to be the difference for this team - and he’s killing it on opening night. We are extremely lucky to have him.

That’s twice this half x and DDJ had communication issues getting back on D. I think on Forrest. Is x off him to avoid fouls or is DDJ on him to practice tougher D assignments (it seems like DDJ thinks he should be on their off guard)

He is going to get ALOT of minutes this season. ALOT.

And before tonight that terrified me. Now…I never want him off the floor!!

I know it’s App state but this may easily be Eli’s best game and coincidently Zs worst of the past year…

Kid knows he’s not coming out now. Completely different mindset under Juwan.

X would have 20 assists if he had stayed in game…

Edit: …and 10 TOs. Just not his night.
