Former Michigan Players NOT in NBA

I try to limit my Michigan basketball obsession to this site…whenever I see comment sections on Social Media related to our players, it makes me cringe that this forum isn’t the representation of Michigan basketball fandom.

From what I hear she’s a great rebounder, especially from old relationships. On effective field goal percentage, I got nothing on her, but it sounds like Adrian is. . . scoring? His turnover rate, for a minute there, was high, but reportedly he’s settling in. That’s all I got.

EDIT: I hope that they’re just doing a quick 15-minute thing with newcomers nowadays about social media. I’ve seen with my own daughter though that on one hand you’re being told to skip it entirely and on the other to build a certain image and rep. Those two things kinda work in opposite directions.

Regardless of whether the tweet is being overdramatic. I’m sure it isn’t “daily” the point still kind of stands I think. Twitter is just filled with Michigan “fans” relentlessly talking trash about players that they don’t like.

It used to be a good place to discuss college hoops, now I’ve basically muted anyone who has ever responded to my tweets.

DJ faced it all last year. Someone like TWill gets it this year. Really anyone this year…

I don’t know if it is something with how the algorithm pushes stuff, certain people influencing the conversation, or what but it is absolutely incredibly toxic.

I also don’t really think it is a rival fans thing at all either, FWIW. I genuinely find it incredibly exhausting just dealing w/ my mentions and I’m not even on the damn team  Can’t imagine what it is like as a player or parent.

Heat and eyeballs are kinda the formula. Definitely drives the negative populism, disquiet, discontent. Why I think guys like Elon are always going to be conflicted about tamping it down. It definitely felt like a new space for discourse, promising in the early days.

In other news, that’s just fantastic about D Walt. I’ll be curious about what kind of looks it gets him in other places. Get him and X back here, Trey, working with Dug in the summer. We really have had us some guards.

Did that fan go in a coma in December 2021 and just wake up now? DeVante ended up being one of our best players by the end of last season. Really weird that anyone would want to bash him.

There are definitely some fans who didn’t really give DJ the credit he deserved because of the early season struggles.

and because, in their minds, michigan’s performance (and especially the performance of devante, the newcomer) robbed them of their good feelings about basketball

Yeah, you don’t see them but I do…you can’t tweet without someone responding to your tweets with jabs at Juwan or Hunter.

the irony is that Devante was probably the single largest factor in us getting those late season wins that got us in.

Googling Cavender Twins…

BAsketball players at Miami, make a ton of NIL money. One starts (played against us), the other I think barely plays

I’d heard something about Miami’s NIL twins but didn’t know their names.

yeah that’s them

they’re polarizing I think because they’re athletes definitely selling cheesecake, and people clutch their pearls about “this is what NIL is bringing”

On the other hand, there are some sort of scary drooling hordes.

I think I may have made up a female equivalent of “beefcake” for men, unintentionally

they take lots of photos in bathing suits and the like, so its not porn, but like, people click for a reason I guess.

Honestly, most of their stuff seems to be just them, being attractive blondes, being at events in age appropriate clothing. I guess weird people get into the twin angle.

I admittedly don’t understand the appeal of any of it, especially Adrien Nunez’s stuff.

Yeah, I’m kinda tipping the scales toward that more nutritional side of the spectrum nowadays myself, at least as first impulse. Visions of Junior’s in Brooklyn.

i’ve definitely heard this term before. on my work computer so not gonna double-check my understanding though
