Former Michigan Players in the NCAA

not gonna catch me casting that particular stone

It sounds like last year’s atmosphere in leadership didn’t help.

Just for fun:

Dug: 28.6 mpg, 11 points, 6 assists, 3 turnovers per game. Unrealistically good from 2 (56%, last year was 44%), unrealistically bad from 3 (28%, last year as 37%).

Terrance: 32 mpg, 10.6 points, 4.6 boards, 36% from 3, 68% (!!) from 2. Aside from the hot two point shooting basically the same guy?

Tarris: 20 mpg, 11 points, 8.6 boards, 1.6 blocks. A major drop in turnover rate noteable?

GW3: only played 2 games w/e

Khayat: 21 minutes, 8.5 points, 3 boards. 4/10 on threes, 12/20 on twos

Glenn: 20 minutes, 7.3 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2 turnovers. Shooting poorly.

Isaiah Barnes: 30 mpg, 11 points, 5 boards, no assists, shooting 37.5% on 4 threes a game

Frankie Collins: 30 mpg, 11 points, 4 assists, 4 boards, 2.5 turnovers, shooting bad. basically the same dude he’s been the past two years

Zeb (still!): 22 mpg, 12 points, 3.6 boards, 2.4 assists, shooting 38% from three on 5+ attempts - first time he’s really shot it well

Christian Anderson: Surprisingly effective! 25 mpg, 8 points, 2.8 assists, 0.7 turnovers, 39% on over 4 threes per game, shooting nearly 70% on a very small volume of 2’s.

Khani Rooths: 12 mpg, 3.4 points, 3 boards, half a steal, half a block. Shooting badly (35% and 2/15 on threes)

CA was getting a lot of preseason hype from Mccasland so im not surprised

Yeah, I mean this so far has to be somewhere north of 90th percentile outcome I had in my mind for him as a freshman. Maybe higher

Thanks for putting this together! Adding some others:

  • Papa Kante - 9mpg, 69% on twos, 4ppg, 1.7rpg. Barely played in their first three games, played more in the last two. Has been really good at twos in limited volume.
  • Hunter - Mostly the usual, though his minutes are notably lower this year at 26mpg. His 2s and FTs are the usual. His threes are only 3-for-11 so far and thus slightly behind but one more make and he’s on track. He’s also his usual annoying self it would seem from his ejection.
  • Caleb Love - Still plugging away, though off to a slow start from 3pt range. But his usual 15.5ppg.

It would be an interesting team if you put it all together…not good and probably frustrating to watch and root for…but:

PG - Frankie, Dug
SG - Zeb, Anderson, GW3
SF - Barnes, Khayat, Rooths
PF - TWill, Glenn
C - Hunter, Tarris, Kante

There’s a case to make that the best PG is actually Anderson  at least offensively

I’m not sure he’s a PG…and if he is, there isn’t a SG. Frankie and Dug only ā€œworkā€ with the ball in their hands. Anderson can be an off-ball shooter.

Not that it matters and I feel slightly ridiculous saying it but I’d probably start CA at the 2, and Zeb at the 3

The Wednesday night at the Big Ten (or whatever conference) Tournament vibes are STRONG with that roster.

It feels like eons since he’s been here

Also, remind us which teams these players now play for.

It seems like he’s playing point?
