An Olympiakos guy I take it
PAOK but yes close
If he can stay healthy, Alexander Isak is a 20+ goal scorer
And competition quality caveats apply but Brighton getting it done with defender/forward Solly March, a 21 year old Brazilian striker promoted from the championship, an 18 year old from their U20 side, and a 20 year old from Côte d’Ivoire newly promoted from Belgium
Well that’s par for the course
Fam and I took in a match at Malaga (second division Spain) today. Good time, no future stars I’m afraid.
I’m in for Brighton pretty much because of this thread. Also when my kid picked Leicester last year that didn’t seem to work out.
This is what I’m saying, yes.
I think it matters (and again I’m not trying to say someone should root for City). Just that understanding what a club is is important.
Think about if you were a European person who wanted to get into CBB … You would have to understand the difference between say … Indiana and Michigan. Or Louisville now and Kansas State now.
How fans feel about their team and see what their team should be is a huge part of the whole equation. Understanding who roots for a team, how they feel about it, and what’s important to them, all of that starts to become important if you try to follow a team.
For me, I really identified with the idea of progressing up the ladder as a fan (and found it fairly comparable to what Michigan basketball was going to at the time).
Just my 2 cents. Obviously it doesn’t mean root for City today but it is something to think about when you think about who to root for.
They didn’t start any of these guys except March and Joao Pedro right? (Who had 109 appearances at Watford before he turned 21, which is pretty impressive for a plucky youngster).
Far more impressive, and hilarious, that they started James Millner and Danny Welbeck in a PL game in 2023.
Ridiculous cross by James Maddison for his first Tottenham assist. Ball was hit so hard he concussed Romero as he scored the goal.

Utterly hilarious that Onana foul wasn’t given as a pen.
Wolves had some shocking VAR decisions against them last year (including one where Liverpool’s stadium didn’t have the right camera angle lol) but that might be the worst.
Onana wasn’t even close to the ball and just hit Kalajdzic with both his hands and his body. Absolutely shocked it wasn’t given. I think if you asked 100 United fans, 99 would say it should have been a pen and the one that didn’t still thinks Fergie is the manager.
More importantly, Wolves dominated that game at Old Trafford, both in terms of chances and possession. A tough break but a promising data point.
USMNT fans, is this a better move for Balogun or is Monaco? Feels like more PT at Monaco but just my two cents. Either way, the more USAers at major clubs in Europe, the better…
I know nothing of Monaco but I’d prefer them because Chelsea just feels like a hot mess outside of their manager.
Best case for Balogun is probably Fulham with Mitrovic headed to Saudi.
Who would Balogun be behind? Sterling? Not sure….
At Chelsea? He would be behind Nicolas Jackson.
Would he? Their resumes don’t seem that different.
21 goals in Ligue1, 12 in La Liga……sort of seems like a wash
Jackson played in Spain, which is a level up over France IMO. Either way neither guy would be THE guy. Then you have Sterling, Nkunku when he comes back, etc.
Can’t imagine Arsenal selling Balogun to Chelsea. But also think he would be better off at a team where he can be the clear number one without the pressure of Chelsea and all of that drama.
It’s not just who would be ahead of you at Chelsea, it is the fact that they have no limit to what they spend and will just buy someone to replace you in January if you go five games without a goal.
Solly March, EPL points leader
Brighton me
Who should City sign now that Paqueta is a no go? Olmo seems like the new name?
I want them to keep Palmer but feels less and less likely to me.
The bench today is scary short.
