Was slightly disappointed with return on Grant trade but after tonight I’m in awe of Weaver. Maybe just because we haven’t seen a competent front office in Detroit since like 2005
This Knicks trade is grand larceny
I still don’t understand what Charlotte got in that deal.
A Frenchman
They moved up 2 slots to get Dieng
Just a home run first round for Troy.
Gabriel Procida. Basically seems like they don’t want to use the roster spot this year. High pick for a draft and stash
Mike Schmitz (now in the Portland front office) on Procida:
“ Intriguing long-term prospects) – Out of all the prospects I evaluated, Procida is the prospect I’d feel most comfortable stamping as a sleeper with a real chance to play in the NBA and outplay his projected draft slot – whether he targets the 2021 draft or not. At almost 6-foot-8 with wide shoulders, a sweet shooting stroke and excellent fluidity, Procida has the ingredients to eventually carve out a role at the highest level if he can continue to improve as a ball handler, decision-maker and defender.”
You’re 100% right. I would have still taken Hardy or Liddell.
I liked the pick. Draft and stash. He can shoot and is athletic. Just raw.
His highlights are fun to watch but he has ways to go before he’s ready to contribute so draft and stash makes a lot of sense. He is a movement shooter, can get up to the rim and is growing into his body. Huge upside.
The pick suggests they didn’t want to add more salary tonight.
The combo of Walker’s $9 mil and the extra draft pick cuts $13 million off the cap number we were discussing.
So they’re now back to having the small max open, plus about $ 5 mil.
I find Schmitz’ scouting opinions to be pretty dead on so if he’s saying this, I’m very excited about Procida.
Veccine loves Procada as well. He rated him as a 32nd best prospect in the draft FWIW.
Ayton is still on the table for the Pistons
That quote could just as well fit Richaun Holmes.
There’s more than one 23 year old in the NBA?
(Ayton is 24 in under a month)
Impressive Clip
His highlight reels are great but when you watch the whole game, he still needs a lot of work but he has upside to be a contributor down the road. If it hits, Weaver looks like a genius.
Pretty much a move with very little downside.
