It doesn’t really make sense to include non-players in the draft tho.

I think they just tried to add in a funny wrinkle to it.
There also really aren’t that many truly awful contracts out there.
Once you get past the albatross guys of Beal, Joel, PG and Kawhi it took some creativity.
Scottie Barnes went fifth based on the argument of giving him a full rookie max extension when he’s not a #1 option.

kinda crazy that the Heat are playing TWO different teams completely disinterested in trying hard in an elimination game
Miami is also just uniquely built to succeed in the play-in.
The uphill climb still ahead of these teams is almost palpable for the Hawks, Kings, Bulls of the world who looked at what lies ahead with a win and said yea, no thanks.
Where as the core of this Miami team got to the Finals as an 8 seed

There is zero… zeroooo point of having Trae Young as the centerpiece of your team if you’re gonna end up with a Georges Niang iso drive with your season on the line.
