I think there’s a possibility that, like, Amen and Eason just Amen & Eason the game up, the Warriors can’t keep the two bigs (which they’re leaning into) off the boards, and the Rockets’ bevy of cromulent perimeter guys (Amen, Eason, FVF, Brooks) can protect the double bigs if the the Warriors put them in P&R.
I think if they don’t, the Rockets need to play more Green, and they can’t really play Green AND the two bigs against these Warriors and survive on defense.
The Warriors though could also make some of Rockets smaller lineups (FVF, Green, Brooks, Thompson, Eason notably) totally reasonable by not having a big and those things are an absolute nightmare, total Chaos Time
Got tix to Game 3 Pistons-Knicks. Think this is the highest stakes game I’ve even attended. I’ve went to the USC-Michigan Rose Bowl, but no post-season UM Hoops.
Biggest game I can remember going to is maybe Trey Burke v Jared Sullinger in 2012?
I have barely seen the Rockets at all but I kind of think they can just shut off the Warriors and crush them in the possession game. Their O is just so much Steph off ball + Jimmy foul drawing and there’s lots of reason to think the Rockets can take that stuff away.
That plus dragging out the series and I think the Dubs best players being old af makes it reaaaal tough.
I’m honestly kind of for play-in creep. Let’s make it a Big10 tourney style event. Weird schedules, bubbles, etc. it’s all unserious until the conference semifinals so let’s have some fun!
Zach Lowe did a few minutes on the Bulls yesterday
the highlight was going through the “Bulls 25 or younger”
White: nice player on good contract, but that’s ending
Ayo: nice player on good contract, but that’s ending
PAW: “Ok, I’m about done here.”
Giddey: “Close to showing he can be the third option on a good team”, which was such a back-handed compliment I guffawed
Buzelis: “Basically holding any hope you have for this team.”
Julian Phillips/Dalen Terry: “The do-something twins. They’re in witness protection.”
Everybody was so bad vs the Heat I don’t bother doing any Pat bits but he’s for sure in the top 10 worst contracts in the league. Maybe the worst? He was awful.
But yeah everything else is just about as grim. There’s no obvious way to go bc they just let their 2 nice surplus value contracts go into their final year. They’re gonna be paying all of these guys market and none of them are any good.
Bill Simmons worst contracts draft is always one of my favorite videos of the year and they went in pretty hard on Pat. Think he got taken 7th overall.
Mind you they included coaches and personnel so Nico Harrison went second lol
The idea of the draft is its reverse trade value. Like what is the one contract you would never want on your books. Wos’s logic was we just watched Phoenix do everything they possibly could to offload it and no one would take it.
Hard with the GM’s because you don’t really know what they make lol for me, I was shocked Joel wasn’t the clear 1.1
