DARKO would say that the Pistons have done just about as well as could be expected in this draft, especially once you adjust for age.
Risacher has looked pretty solid. Heās ahead of Ron right now, as far as impact and 3-point shooting (Ron recently ended an 0-26 streak from deep) but I think itās hard to say who has more upside. I like both. Saar has started to show signs of being good. Sheppard, for whatever reason, has done close to nothing for Houston. And, I still like Castle a lot.
Since the Pistons were also rumored to be interested in Buzelis and Clingan, Iāll say that both guys have shown some flashes as well. I did see Clingan when Portland played Detroit a couple of months ago, and he didnāt look that impressive in person. It may be a year or two more before he blossoms. I think he needs to get a little stronger and build his conditioning up.
For a draft that was labelled as a bad one, I think there are several promising players.
Ivey is doing some light running.

He looks a little gimpy on the way back but itās still good to see.
ROTY is going to be Wells/Castle 1/2 in some order then Risacher
Risacher has done really well lately and not so well to start
Buzelis similar but not quite as strong
Sarr does some thing well but being the worst rim scoring center in single season history is sort of hard to overlook
Castle is mostly hype and highlights but not much meat on the table in terms of production yet
Wells is the most productive guy and doing it on a real team playing real basketball but I donāt know how much more meat there is on that bone
Long story short, if we are talking only this season I donāt thing swapping Holland for any of those guys really moves the needle other than maybe Wells (heās better than Hardaway, probably close to Harris)
But like they (and everyone else) COULD have taken Wells
Kelel Ware looks pretty good.
Sasser showing out tonight. Pistons up 20 no Cade.
Got to go tonight again. Another fun crowd. Starters have been blah the last two games but Sass and Holland have been great off the bench.
Starters did just fine, though. 4 of 5 in double figures. Lots of dunks for JD and Ausar, many from them feeding each other.
Obviously, you want Cade back but turnovers have been well down these last two games and down from the pervious games vs. N.O. and S.A.
With Lillard out indefinitely with a blood clot good chance the Pistons move past the Bucks for 5th seed.
The question is: would we rather face the Knicks or the Pacers? Playing the Pacers would have more juice but I think we may match up better with the Knicks.
I think the magic number is 4 now to clinch playoffs (Pistons wins and Hawks losses.)
Pacers because Iād rather play the Cavs than the Celtics in round two
Bulls getting good contribution from Giddey and Huerter.
If we hypothetically got to the 2nd round, we are 1-2 vs. Boston and 0-3 against Cleveland. We do have one more regular season crack against the Cavs this Friday but Iām not sure that theyāre the better match-up. Holiday seems like heās starting to show his age and Porzingis is always a threat to miss games.
But Iāll be happy to face any team in the 2nd round, as that means we won a playoff series for the first time in 17 seasons.
Most people I talk to still pick the Celtics to win it all, but they donāt seem right to me. I going with the Thunder to beat either the Cavs or Celtics. And Iām leaning Cavs to win the East.
The bulls are beating up nonsense teams that arenāt trying, and the Bulls always try because theyāre idiots
Giddey sucks, hard
This is the same as the Mirotic March bump that they fell for in like three consecutive seasons
Crazy end to this Laker Pacers game
Buzzer beater tip in by LeBron
Pacers lose.
Knicks lose.
Bucks down 3 at the half.
