5.5 is a lot at this point. Pistons would need to go 20-3 to catch up to the Knicks’ pace.
Not with this attitude!
It is hard to overstate how utterly broken the Magic are offensively, and the vibes have curdled so bad that the defense is starting to implode, really ugly stuff
I’ve gone from softly muttering “Maybe Paolo/Franz and an army of 6’8” octopi won’t work” to “Paolo/Franz and an army of 6’8” octopi doesn’t work”.
Not having Suggs (who will at least shoot threes, may not make them) or Mo (ditto) os obviously hurting the offense some but if the idea is that Paolo and Franz are both star level players that fit even adequately with each other the offense just wouldn’t be this miserable. I’m not
Part of it is limited talent, but Wendell Carter’s career scoring average is well into the double digits, and KCP, Bitadze, and Cole Anthony are all guys capable of putting up double figures.
Final point: Jeff Weltman went from Toronto, who went all in on the “size and length above all else” plan to the point of absurdity (when they starting running out lineups with Siakam, Barnes, Achiuwa, OG and Trent) and seems to have internalized all the wrong lessons about what made the peak of Toronto effective (versatile big men, top notch guard play, and importantly the best 3 in the NBA)
I think it’s time for Orlando to reposition Paolo/Franz. Both can work together at 3/4, but they must surround themselves with shooting, which they neglected. Both cannot co-exist and need to be traded for them to be the guy on the team. The Magic is at a crossroads with this roster.
Part of it also is that they’ve drafted some shooting we know rather well….its unplayable.
I also just think there best players have so much duplication of skill set - Paolo and Franz offensively are similar players. Black and Suggs are literally the same guy. KCP and Harris do precisely the same things (and are wildly failing at it). These guys have won 5 of their last 20 games.
I still think the Warriors blew it by passing on Franz
Yeah could very well be. He’s definitely better than Kuminga now - Kuminga has lots of raw talent but if I had to guess, I’d say it’s going to end up a mistake.
KCP has fallen off a cliff this year, at least offensively.
He really has - he’s obviously a dependent talent in that I don’t think there is much coincidence that his best shooting seasons came next to Lebron and Jokic - situations where spot up shooters often look great - but he’s never been THIS bad
It’ll be an interesting game between the Nuggets vs the Pistons. Both have been playing well as of late.
You’d think that they’ll put Ausar on Murray and hope for the best on the rest of them. Joker will produce like always.
Pistons are good now, so Jokic won’t purposely get ejected for yelling at the refs so he can take the game off.
Jamal Murray is cooking
So is Malik Beasley tho
lol Jokic is having one of those “eh maybe I won’t shoot today” games
Malik Beasley shot 49% on 11 threes a game in February lololol
How do you Pistons guys keep talking about this win streak and not mention the guy who literally had the best 10 game stretch of three point shooting in history
He’s certainly benefitted from having superstar teammates but even his one year in D.C. he was able to hit 39% from 3, and the only star he was playing with then (Beal) missed half the year.
He’s at a career-low .306 right now, “beating” his .309 that he clanked in his 3rd year with the Pistons.
Love The Beez!
Cade had his first true struggle game in months last night. He just didn’t have it, though he did manage a poster-dunk in the 3rd quarter.
Franz has taken off but important to remember how much age matters here. You’d still rather have the bird in hand ofc but 2 guys that young and league average is not a bad place to be. I’d guess one of them will also achieve lift off?
I think Moody is booty cheeks
