Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

Whew. Aaaand I dk sometimes it’s convenient to talk in bps, sometimes not. Def have to be careful when talking about the difference in percentages tho.

Alex Sarr’s performance is the second worst shooting performance in summer league history (ie, 1 player had an 0-fer on two additional shots)

We all have heard of this person, he even has peripheral Michigan connections.

Who is it?

Kobe Bufkin would’ve been the #1 overall picked if he stayed an extra year at Michigan.

I would have guesses but “peripheral Michigan connections” opens it up to so many people. is it a guy we recruited twelve years ago? a guy we played against last year? jamal crawford’s cousin? who knows!

I feel like Trey Burke had an abysmal summer league

I’d guess Josh Christopher just for the vibes

The answer is Tim Hardaway (the elder) in 1991

Bronny James has a higher TS% than Sarr in the Summer League. 32.5% compared to 23.4%. Crown Bronny!

Strange to me that Wind’s language went from Jokic “pushing” for Westbrook to now he’s merely “signed off”

Remember when Russ and John Wall were the best PGs in the NBA

Didn’t show as freshmen due to PT, but the Murray twins definitely fit this mold too - kids that showed massive Stocks before developing bigger games

USA down 14 at half vs South Sudan

we have a thread for that. but yeah they played really bad and SSD shot exceptionally well.

Chris Paul imo.

So Saar is destined for the hall of fame!

Somewhat related, I didn’t know they had Summer League in the late-80’s.

The most encouraging summer league of major prospects, I think, as Reed Sheppard. Still plenty of stocks, shot really well, especially midrange, showed some good skills with the ball

Didn’t pass great

I love Reed but that choke job versus Oakland was something else. He wilted.

good thing he’s played other games

I didn’t watch a ton of Reed but I still really don’t like the sheer number of blow bys he gives up. Getting better at it I guess but there’s just a weird thing there bc I don’t really think it’s athleticism. Just poor anticipation?

He really can shoot it seems like and the stocks are holding up so far.

I think maybe I like Jamal Murray as a comp? Not really a true PG? Holds his own on D. The movement shooting I think will come but prob not to the same degree.

Also means he’s prob not gonna be a top 15 type, but still a good player?
