Looks like Rip/Boozer, but maybe a deal for Chandler was also talked about?
I generally agree, particularly about prioritizing Duren, but will they do that is the question. Who knows, Wiseman may turn out to be good player at some point. But Duren already is a pretty good player with plenty of room to grow as well.
He’s my favorite (healthy) Piston, just ahead of Livers.
Looks like Weaver is still swinging for the fences trying to find the 2-3 stars to build around. Besides Burks and Bojan, everyone else is a young former 5 star.
PG: Cade, Killian
SG: Ivey, Burks
SF: Bojan, (Brandon Miller? Cam Whitmore? Ausar Thompson?)
PF: Stewart, Bagley
C: Duren, Wiseman
Lol
This was my theory on how Troy Weaver targets free agents/trades. Evidence is strong:
Jaden Ivey’s stats in the month of February:
48.9% FG, 47.4% 3pt, 61.8% TS and 5.8 apg. He’s also shooting 41.8% in the midrange. He’s starting to find himself in the NBA and it’s clear that he’s getting more comfortable with the speed of the game. He’s scoring at a similar rate but with higher efficiency rate. His pacing and change of speed has noticeably gotten better so he knows when to pick his spot to use his elite speed/explosion. I feel really good about his future with the Pistons playing next to Cade especially if Jaden can shoot high 30% from 3 pt.
The Pistons needs to find 3 and D wing player to help spread the court for the backcourt.
He’s actually close to 6 assists over his past 30 games, not just February, and more than doubling his turnovers. The shooting is nice, but I’m not utterly sold. The passing is a really really encouraging sign. Also, just, he gets everywhere he wants to go. I was listening to a summary of Big 10 peer Malaki Branham, who creates no separation, and just bullies people with strength, Ivey was mentioned as the opposite - just zooms around anyone.
Looking forward to Cade, Ivey, Duren and Wemby growing up together in the league.
Isaiah Stewart at the 3?
Hard not to be eyeing Brandon Miller, given that we are Pistons fans and used to lottery luck coming only once every 20 years or so. Slots in so perfect at the 3. Wonder if Weaver applies the ``draft the person not the player’’ criteria though.
Franz Wagner comes home at the end of his rookie deal to round out the lineup.
Yeah Miller was who I wanted if Wemby was unavailable, but it will be interesting to see if this whole incident affects his draft stock
Oh how I’d love Franz. Miller’s so perfect a fit though. And you get the 2 more years on a rookie deal. I’m betting it doesn’t impact his draft stock. He’s head/shoulders better than the other wings.
The Pistons Pulse just did a nice breakdown of the Top 8 players and how they’d fit with the Pistons.
Yeah, but one guy was involved in some capacity in a murder whereas another highly rated wing is named Amen, so no character concerns with the lord on his side.
Ausar probably fits better for the Pistons (less ball dominant, better defender, better although still not great shooter.) Both of them were pushed by their father to study the Zavier Simpson hook shot, but I think I heard Ausar has that down better.
the thompson twins are such amazing basketball nerds, i love it. what kind of sickos identify joe wieskamp and brazdeikis on sight other than people who watch a ton of big ten games? if they know wieskamp you know it’s not because they only pay attention to CBB when the sweet 16 starts
Was there a video or something where they were talking Wieskamp and Iggy?
