Yeah I know, with that in mind my question is why move him? To get more frontcourt or wing help and use Russ on their backcourt instead?
I thought theyâre trying to get a forward. They have 2 that have basically ever played in the NBA (DeRozan, Keegan Murray) with Nique Clifford and Isaac Jones (I donât know who this is) as backups. Doug McDermott is there? There have also been lots of rumors that theyâre trying to deal Devin Carter who people thought fondly of before he hurt himself last year - so I thought they were just trying to see which guard got them more help at forward. But this Russ stuff? I mean, I have long given up trying to make âsenseâ of what the Kings do.
They also have Terrence Davis, who has played 2 NBA games in the past 24 months, and Dario Saric who had a massive fork sticking out of his back. So the âforwardâ thing makes sense. ButâŚthatâs not Russ.
I know the Kings are after Kuminga (a move that would make sense), so maybe some of these guys can be used there
Kuminga would be a decent move for the Kings imo. They need to take some shots on upside with that current roster.
Yeah it at least makes rational sense, Iâm increasingly not a Kuminga guy but its a move with a clear logic to it, which is more than you can say for most of what the Kings do
That said - I donât think Monk or Carter are tied to the Kuminga thing. The most obvious return piece given salary and playing fit is DeRozan
The Westbrook thing seems like a done deal, and it sure seems like theyâd just be choosing him over Monk and over seeing what they have in Devin Carter - Iâm a Russ fan, heâs my favorite player in the post-KG era probably, but that is not a choice Iâd make.
That tracks for the Kangz under Vivek.
Looks like GSW will be holding onto Kuminga for the time being.Kuminga wants out and does not like the team option offer.

According to Shams, the Kings offered a rotation player plus a protected 1st for Kuminga, but the GSW wanted an unprotected 1st round pick. I assume the rotation player in question is Monk.
Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas and suspected Israeli crime figure were arrested today on federal indictment alleging they operated illegal gambling business in which high-stakes poker games were played at Encino mansion Arenas owned.
Does that make Arenas Encino Man?
Kwame Brown is in good spirits after todayâs news that Shannon Sharpe was fired and that Gilbert Arenas was indicted:

I laughed way too hard at this
This is a really good interview with Rick Carlisle - obviously talks a ton about his career generally but gets into some details about todayâs game and where the NBA is going/what he thinks matters in todayâs NBA. I think if youâre interested in the evolution of NBA hoops, itâs a good listen.
Generally, I think Cooper is awesome - she writes about the product on the floor and not the drama and grinds incomprehensible amounts of tape, sheâs just Pacers-only so donât get too her that frequently.
Despite being a Patreon link, itâs free
sheâs terrific.

Iâve said this a million times, but⌠most of the top european basketball players are playing for the NT this summer and started practice at least a week ago. Tournament doesnât start for 3 more weeks.
Last summer Team USA started practice 21 days before their first game. And they had travel days to Abu Dabi then to Paris.
If you want to know why Team USA only manages to win closely and only does so with the big guns in the Olympics
No Pistons for Christmas:

so other teams practice for four weeks and the US practices for three?
Other teams practice at least 25% more the one time every 4 years that they actually do practice. They practiced infinity% more this summer!
