Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk (Part 1)

Ausar had a great pass on that Wiseman dunk

Tari Eason is good at basketball. In other news, I liked this:

Man I really don’t like Jabari Smith

He just Rashard Lewis

Yeah this Houston team is odd. I’m not sure other than Amen that I’m into any of the Rockets top picks. They have so many kids w at least some pedigree and I like Eason the best.

Houston’s coaching the past two yeas makes them a total black box…who knows what they have. I think that’s why the Udoka/FVV/Brooks stuff went down despite the expense. Needed a coach and players who will demonstrate professionalism (I know about Brooks, but he’ll model nightly effort for them) for a franchise that hasn’t really given it a second thought for awhile

Meanwhile, Ausar’s shooting is meh to meh-minus but 9 stocks, 18 boards, and 10 dimes in 2 games is pretty tasty.

Jabari’s playing well. And he’s younger than Miller. I still like him

Only caught the last the last 5 mins and what I saw was more of the same from Ivey. Thank god for Cade and that the 2 is Ivey’s true calling.

That pass back to Wiseman on the break from Ausar was v cool

Please just let Ausar role play Amen for the love of god, I can’t with this kiefer dude, nevermind Wiseman having room temp iq on the floor.

I feel like we’re going to be doing this same song and dance of the pistons being allergic to the most common sense, fan service decisions. Ausar will be playing a bit part role when he should be getting more touches, just like how Duren was sodelined for Wiseman and Bagley of all people last season, and how Cade had to share the rock with Killian f@cking Hayes for half a season the season before. The same franchise that had to be dragged kicking and screaming in order to tank, always a step late to everything.

I"m just gonna say that if Marvin Bagley plays 1 second at the 4 there is a crime transpiring.

I’ve basically only seen him in summer league but he just always looks awkward to me. His shots went in this year at least.

Yeah maybe. I don’t know enough about Houston to know how much that stuff matters. I’m a noted Development Skeptic as it is. I dk think the people complaining about Dillon Brooks’ contract are weird. And it’s already looking more team friendly.

Agreed re: Ausar. He just kind of lets it all come to him and that’s pretty much fine in this context bc he’s always looking to make a useful play. Possibly interesting to note that once again he’s pressing the ā€œdeferā€ button to some extent. Last guy people were worried about that had that kind of attitude was Mobley and that seems to have worked out fine.

It’s what people were projecting him as, a connecting piece, and he’s fulfilling that role to a tee.

The only problem being that’s pretty much our entire starting five team out there around him minus the obvious guy. So Cade is going to have to at least be an all star caliber player for us to not be the worst team in the league. We are going to be garbaaj unless Cade is Doncic.

Don’t think I’ve seen NBA wins futures out there yet but I’d guess it’s going to come in around 30? And obviously some of that 30 is going to be ā€œCade could be really awesomeā€.

So yeah, is what it is for this team rn. Think that’s not the worst thing either as long as you get flashes from enough guys. Cade simply being league average for 60 games this year, Ivey being Not Abominable, Ausar showing flashes, etc. would be totally fine IMO.

I hope they keep Bojan, Harris, Morris and Burks (until the trade deadline.) I’d really like to see what this team looks like with some knockdown shooters mixed in.
