Since dismissing their second and fifth leading scorers Georgetown has soundly defeated OK State and blown out SMU, both on the road. Did not see that coming.
Texas vs awful Texas A&M on ABC right now for those interested in seeing Yaklich’s new team. Texas’ defense has actually fallen to 41st on Kenpom after finishing last year 26th and starting this year around the same place IIRC [edit: yup, they started the year 27th on defense].
I know Virginia seems to own unc, but count me as surprised Virginia won. Even though Unc has been struggling I thought they’d get on track and beat Virginia comfortably.
UNC is not good. That’s a shame for the impressive resume. Hopefully they get it figured out eventually.
Their only guys who can really do anything on offense are Anthony and Bacot. But Anthony is an all-time chucker. Has a sub-100 rating on 30%+ usage on the year so far… And somehow that puts him high up in the KPOY race
I agree here. Still will be a good win, but not the showcase we were hoping for.
Interesting games that could impact M’s resume tonight, with Gonzaga up on Washington at half, then Iowa St./Seton Hall.
Big time win for the Zags at Washington. That win is really gonna hold up.
Iowa St. faces Seton Hall on ESPN2 soon.
Hopefully. Still got UNC and Zona coming up to seal their non-conference chops. Washington is not top 25 good.
Watching Myles Powell is mystifying. Maybe the laziest player in college hoops. If a play isn’t called for him, he ain’t moving an inch on offense or defense, lmao.
I disagree. Right now their playing very sloppy and disorganized , like an aau team. If Hopkins can get things organized they could be very very dangerous. They’re talent level is big time. It’s about getting them to play cohesively and stop making dumb mistakes/ playing pick up. If he gets that roster up to speed and playing the right way they will be a very very tough team to beat in March and certainly a top 25 program.
Interested to hear what you think about Washington Dylan, sounds like you caught the game yesterday .
Also another thought about Washington, is Hopkins this offensively challenged? Stewart is literally unstoppable down low, you can’t move him off the block. How he isn’t getting a touch every time down the floor is beyond me.
Also McDaniels only getting nine shots is a travesty. Those two could be the best frosh combo in college hoops if they use them right.
Also their zone looks a little off to me. It seems like their spacing is off. Kind of disappointing for a coach who was at cuse so long. With that length and those athletes it should be a nightmare.
Hopkins is a Boeheim disciple and has had horrible disgusting offenses every year he’s been at Washington. There’s no reason to believe they are ever gonna run better offense than an AAU team as they spend all their practice days on 2-3 zone.
Notables
OSU: 3
Maryland: 4
Michigan: 5
Gonzaga: 6
Oregon: 10
MSU: 16
UNC: 17 (what the hell are they doing in the top 20??)
Purdue: 28
Indiana: 29
Penn State: 35
Well they need to practice it more because it was leaky. It’s kind of sad because I think they could really guard well in a man to man.
Just watching them against Baylor and Gonzaga it was frustrating because their potential is through the roof and they were making things hard on themselves
They have a roster that has a deep run in them and if they don’t get there it’s going to be on hop. I’m Hoping he can get through to them in time. I’m rooting for them versus anybody but Michigan this year.
Reegs did you not like their talent or it’s strictly you have no faith in Hopkins?
Interesting. Thanks for posting.
Every goddamn expletive in the book I am so sick of hearing about OSU.
Sounds like NFaly Dante is coming back, but won’t play on Sat.
Starter Shakur Juiston is also doubtful.
Oregon rotation probably looks like this on Saturday.
Gonna be a pretty big size mismatch will all their injuries. Gonna need to be a game where we do well on the boards. Also probably not a big Livers game.
