They do bring KC which is maybe out of the B1G footprint technically. Not sure how that all works on that level. They are an AAU school which is all they need academically. Rivalry wise have no idea what they’ll do but that seems like a 3rd or 4th level concern considering the Rutgers and Maryland additions.
I agree expansion for expansions sake is pointless though. I’m very torn on KU as an addition. Not really enthused by it but they have a couple things going for them
I guess in the archaic world of TV markets maybe KC is indeed the draw as you point out. Personally I hope the B10 has learned the lesson about the TV market from Rutgers/Maryland or maybe woke up to realize that streaming is where things are heading and markets don’t matter as much. I would also contend that the KC market isn’t going to watch Kansas football (or any other sport) so it is debatable whether that market helps the B10 otherwise.
From a purely hoops perspective, I think Kansas in the Big Ten would be extremely fun. The business of conference realignment is above my pay grade though.
only because the Men in Blazers pay themselves $4 million a year for one day of work. I bet you are much smarter and handsomer than all of them combined
Kansas’ AD also just got caught paying off a kid on their football team who tried blowing the whistle on a number of other players who were dealing drugs and intimidating students (including threatening the life of the whistleblower). There’s genuine rot there.
The “Bee’s Knees?” Even I think you’re dated! Did you dance the Charleston in high school, for gosh sakes?
OK, just playin’! Even an old guy like me can still play…sometimes. And PLEASE don’t anyone go after me for going “off topic!” It’s SUMMER, for gosh sakes! By the way, the phrase, “For gosh sakes” probably dates me, but at least I’m using a phrase that’s of my vintage!
I sure am thankful Michigan did not get Les Miles as fb coach when they hired Hoke now knowing of Miles’ sexual harassment escapades at LSU. I don’t know what Long was thinking when he hired Miles at Kansas.
I had alternatives in mind but most of them had expletives or referred to a feline’s posterior, so I went the cleanest metaphor off the top of my head.
That is a wild coaching staff. While Brown is known as a great coach, he’s also known to be a bit of a wildcard. Adding Sheed to that mix? Those are going to be some interesting practices and coaching meetings.
