Oh… oh my…

I also love that the OSU write up doesn’t even mention Jamari Wheeler.

What does Goodman do for an actual living when he’s not huffing gas and talking college basketball?

I think it’s clear Goodman threw darts at a board to come up with this list. It’s also clear he’s as bad at darts as he is writing about basketball.

I find it hard to believe Goodman isn’t constantly just trolling without us knowing.

I’m excited for Rothstein’s equally bad list to come out tomorrow. Spoiler: Michigan will be at #26 and he’ll never admit he underrated them.

Was already mentioned awhile ago but Slater puts one right on the nose about Brian Snow’s next gig.

As we mentioned a while back…

You’re right. A pro coach would never leave a good job to return to his old college seeetheart. Who ever heard of such a thing? I’m not saying it’s likely. But Duke will have to ask. He’s the only K-related coaching success that I can think of. Maybe Capel/Kapel at Pitt but that’s rough … Dawkins? Eh. Amaker? Maybe a strong #2.

Yeah but can a D1 coach afford to live in San Jose?

So, I knew SJSU was bad at basketball but I didn’t realize the extent of it. A .500 record would be their best season in 11 years and second-best in 21! That is some seriously bad hoops.

I’m surprised that Miles had to go that far down to get another head gig. Figured that he could catch on with a decent mid-major but I guess coaching a total dumpster fire is better than no coaching? I’ll be interested to see what he does there.

He’s spent his whole career in crummy recruiting situations. I like Fort Collins and Lincoln but probably hard to get kids there. Now he’s close to the beach and will have solid weather all around. I would be surprised if this was his first job offer.

If I were him, I’d be looking at what I want to accomplish from here on out. He’s 54 and has to win at a pretty good rate to get another power conference job. I wouldn’t be interested in going to another tough situation like Nebraska. So id only want to go to a mid tier major conference job. Which seems unlikely unless he made SJSU into a mid major power. And by the time he did that, he’d be in his 60s.

I could be wrong, and maybe he gets an upgrade after a few seasons. But if I had coached all across the tundras of the Dakotas and Nebraska, San Jose seems like a nice place to coach for a long time.

Didn’t Snyder have major NCAA trouble at Missouri? He was untouchable at the college level IIRC which is why he went to the NBA.
