Alabama has a chance now after winning today to take last number 1 seed. Michigan should be the last 1 seed but with Livers injury could give reason to drop Michigan to 2 seed. Hope get win in 1st game and get a good matchup with 7-10 seed and can make sweet 16 and have a chance to see Livers if not then season probably end there if can even get past second round without him. Really need Wagner to be bigger scorer without Livers needs to be star and get early season Dickinson with Smith and Brooks looking to score more. Just have Brown and Johns just be solid not bad and unplayable like have been at times this year.

I’ve yet to see anyone put Bama ahead of Michigan.

Fwiw brian snow posted on the iu board that oats is “a fit” in the sec and he knows it. When a national guy is openly calling you a cheater, you’re probably a big time cheater.

I wish people who knew those things would out them. Droves me nuts when all of these teams and coaches are openly cheating and everyone just sort of alludes to it but won’t go public.

Bama may be slow, but it’s always seemed like a matter of when not if they realized that they could have a winter revenue sport, too. They’ll be happy to buy their way to annual contention in bball, too. I’ll bet there are even people out there who know what the price tag is.

Could be wrong, but it seems to me that Juwan Howard is in a very enviable position w. regard to ‘doing it right’ at Michigan.

Yeah, IIRC he has been shady dating back to coaching high school at Romulus

Crazy how much buzz (on the internet, not so much the actual search) there was about Steve Prohm when U-M hired Howard.

Count me among those who thought at the time he’d be a decent fallback plan. Yikes. :man_facepalming:

Not sure where else he will get looked at, but I think this is a great landing spot for Darian DeVries. He has done really well his whole tenure at Drake, although he obviously gets a lot of attention for this year.

Brian at mgoblog drove that bus. I admittedly was higher on Prohm than, say, Ed Cooley. But not really any of the other semi-reasonable names

Baffling to me that someone would be in a rush to hire Richard.

TJ Otzelberger apparently a favorite at ISU, which seems like such a settle.

What is Pitino’s biggest accomplishment? I guess I don’t understand what’s on his resume that would convince a school that he’s the guy.

Makes no sense to me.

Seems like there are other guys or gals out there that would get a fan base a little more excited.

Richie’s biggest accomplishment is having the same last name as his father. And the good news for him is that he continues to have the last name Pitino even after he was fired

You’re not wrong.

Richard Pitino’s Coaching Credentials:

(See above)

Dan Monson, Tubby Smith, Richard Pitino. Tubby and Richard each have 1 tourney win at Minnesota. Richard got a power conference job far too soon and you can’t blame Pitino for that. He turns 39 in September and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a job quite soon. A lot of people have said he’s an upstanding guy, won’t criticize people, has terrific values and I imagine that will go a long way in getting another gig.

The Lobos wanted to hire another Big Ten coach who had been fired or was about to be fired. The administration down in Albuquerque must have fond memories of Steve Alford.

did Steve Alford get himself a job at UCLA, his tenure at NM cannot be too bad
