Texas’ front court has been impressive around the rim today. An insane amount of athletic finishes from Sims, Brown and Jones.
I don’t think Texas is top 10 good like the preseason computer projections. But they could be a top 25 team to me.
I always thought of myself as a college basketball junkie who could watch pretty much any game, but I have to admit I’m finding it a little difficult with the fanless environments and remote announcers who are often describing things a half-beat behind.
I’m so disappointed in myself.
We were discussing a few months back, and a bunch of people here were okay with the lack of fans, but for me it absolutely takes away from the power of the event.
without fans, games are only 10% of what it used to be.
Hopefully UCF isn’t playing a zone.
Also BGSU just eeked out a 2 point OT win @ App St. after blowing a 12 point lead in the last 6 or so minutes of regulation
As long as they don’t run a zone we’re golden!
Interesting convo about fans, I haven’t felt like it was only 10% of what it usually is at all. Crowds are dead at the early games anyways and the good games are in ballrooms or high school gyms in Hawaii with 1,000 people.
Decent road win for BGSU. Not sure they are as good as maybe people thought they would be but maybe they get there and win the MAC.
They were projected to lose on Kenpom, so definitely a good result. I’d go farther than you and call it a good road win.
Agreed. May be overreacting to a few games to start the season but Ohio looks dangerous in the MAC as well.
College hoops without fans is significantly worse than college hoops with fans. It’s still way better than no college hoops.
I wouldn’t go that far, but I miss them!
I’ve been hitting spurts so far this season. I’ve been working from home today and had the games on in the background but never really paid much attention. Paying some attention tonight but not overly engaged.
Friday however I was locked to me seat all day. Michigan, B1G and nationally relevant games will keep me interested. The rest will come and go I’m guessing.
Is there a home court advantage this year? I feel like it would be substantially reduced.
We don’t know yet.
Anyone else find themselves rooting against Bama because we recruit so many of the same players?
Same here…
