Lots of holes in Lorraine’s game

Marquette’s the big outlier this year as far as them being a young team that is thriving in the current environment. And of course I imagine all Michigan fans can feel some uneasiness about this same idea if we have to depend on the portal at any point. On the other hand, we were 1B for TSj

If I’m feeling uneasy about that, I have no way to know because I’m feeling uneasy about absolutely everything ongoing currently.

I think there’s probably some middle ground of competitive NIL and a natural fit versus a pure highest bidder situation.

As far as a portal add making sense it has to be a cultural fit as far as on paper, role expectation, all of that. They have to want to fit into the role that you envision, etc.

Otherwise even if you bankroll some big splashy transfers there’s still a lot of risk that things go sideways.

Side note: Marquette made the NCAA Tournament and went 11-8 in the Big East last year wit hthe 350th oldest roster in the country and was picked 9th in the Big East?

They didn’t bring in any transfers because they had like five freshmen coming back who played real minutes.

How long before Chris Beard gets a job?
Does Beard have to take a lower level job to build up cred again? Or does a power conference take a chance??

I hate myself for what I just thought.

He entered a data analysis contest conducted by Teamrankings.com and judged by a panel headlined by Mark Cuban. He finished runner-up in Year 1 with a study charting Wisconsin’s offense.
