Big12 really is something this year (they have warts, but a lot of good)! Definitely fun to watch

This post did not age well. Down 21 halfway through the second half and came back to win in OT. :man_facepalming:

So a 90-team tournament? While that might help this year’s Michigan team, it would water things down way too much.

Yes but February Through April Madness has a certain ring to it. Very catchy.

Yeah, probably some sort of expanded opening round of middle-seeded teams. Expansion has been the word for a while, but feels notable that Fischer is tweeting things are lukewarm on that front. Potentially good news IMO.

I’m hoping the execs realize there’s only so much you can water down a product and get great returns

I do think that there are probably some down the line consequences. Every tv network loves their conference tournament checks, for example.

I also think it could reduce upsets and thus reduce interest overall in the first weekend

Good plan. I think you’re on firm ground and should expect desired results.

Excuse me

Saban kept his starters in too long.

Holy ****. That’s a score I’d expect to see against a SWAC outfit, not a high major.

Is this Stack’s Last Stand?

Vanderbilt is really strange…they were a pretty good program under Kevin Stallings for awhile (two sweet 16’s, tournament about half the time, .500 in the SEC, 60% win percentage overall). He stalled out, they hired Bryce Drew, who went 10-8 in the SEC his first year and got a tournament birth…then he signed a class that was Darius Garland (5 stars), Simi Shittu (5 stars), and Aaron Nesmith (4 stars, but an NBA rotation player)…and went 0-18 in the SEC and got canned. Like, they were on the cusp of the big time, and it just exploded (Garland got hurt and barely played).

Last year was Stackhouse’s best team (19-17 (7-11), made the NIT), which seemed to maybe buy some time, but who knows.

Stackhouse signed an extension right before the season started

Even though their record isn’t that good, that Alabama game looks like an aberration - they’ve mostly been somewhat competitive in the SEC

So much this time of year is who comes to play and the circumstances that surround that. After Bama’s embarrassing game on Saturday, not surprising that they would come out on their home court with their hair on fire.
