College Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

That’s almost certainly true. Villanova was never as consistently good as it was with Jay Wright

This is all fair and for Villanova to backslide from a top tier coach like Wright is to be expected over 5 year period. But to drop off this quickly regardless of the roster isn’t going to earn him any goodwill.

I still consider Villanova a blue blood there are only 5-6 other schools that have won more national titles than Villanova. Fertile recruiting grounds in Philly, decent enough conference where they still have potential to dominate under the right circumstances. UConn has a great chance to always be up there but after that I don’t see many other schools that are a long term threat to Nova. Maybe Xavier depends on how long Miller is there for.

Maybe Pluto Nash can step in and take the reigns

Pitt up 11 on Duke at the half. :eyes:

It seems I danced on Jeff Capel’s grave a bit prematurely.

At Cameron no less! Perhaps we have a Q1 win without even knowing it

How long before Dukies start questioning their new head coach?

Very unfortunate Duke won. Every time Duke wins, a species dies.

Wvu loses at home to Baylor. I’ll take the over on 7.5 seed for them by end of the season

Texas is getting wrecked in their fancy new home by TCU. And as I write that, they go on a 7-0 run.

2nd half has been fun, all tied at the U4.

Watching replay of Texas and tcu.

Both these teams are of a significantly higher caliber roster compared to most big ten games I’ve seen. Couldn’t help but think both teams would destroy the versions of Michigan and Michigan st I saw on Saturday.

Kansas looks good too.

The Jerome Tang era at Kansas State looks more promising.

I didn’t realize how big Donovan Clingan is when he was being recruited.

Are you trying to make me cry?

I like Tarris Reed and think he and Kante will be good, but having Clingan follow Hunter would have been special.

Sigh.

That said, I’m ready for the most dominated era in Michigan basketball. Everybody go work on their FTs in the offseason and then bring on the Dug/Reed years.

Why did nobody tell me that Stretch Armstrong plays hoops?

I haven’t watched much KSU, but are they good because of something Tang is doing, or because KSU was willing to play an all-SEC first team level player through a medical condition Florida wasn’t?

(he also had a sexual assault allegation, but both schools seemed to be ok playing him through that)
