With Manek and Garcia as the main frontcourt pieces it makes sense. Basically completely overhauled the type of big they want in one offseason

I think Kennedy Chandler and TyTy would like a seat at the table as well. Not sure id put them in the top 5 range but if Hardy keeps struggling it could well end up the first guard isn’t drafted until around 8 or later in the draft.

Absolutely comical that Florida Atlantic thought they would saunter into The Pit as favorites and get over on Richard Pitino’s Lobos. This will prove to be easy money.

The UCs are no joke man. Big West is a really nice, deep conference. Riverside itself is usually fourth in the pecking order (Santa Barbara, Irvine, Davis) and they even had to rescue a few sports from AD cuts last year, but David Patrick handed off a solid rebuild to their new coach Magpayo and he is doing a great job.

The chances of that shot going in are incredibly low, even with a clean look, but still, why would you go for the steal there? Stand tall with arms straight up and make the guy have to chuck it over you.

So many good players out west in the mid major and lower leagues, pac 12 is full of so many terrible coaches and is the only high major league so tons of guys slip through.

I watched some random documentary a few years ago about Duke (might have been a 30 for 30 thing) in which Hurley was talking about his time playing for K at Duke. He couldn’t stress enough about how his game just took off when K let him improvise on the court and make plays outside the structure of the play call.
Every time I watch his team play I keep thinking about that and realizing he is probably coaching kids that same way. Letting them do whatever feels right on the court. The problem is he was an all time great PG so letting him improvise worked out well. The players he is coaching are not all time greats so letting them freestyle all game long is probably not the wisest idea.

I was shocked when I saw the score to their game with KSU. 51 points by a McDermott offense against one of the worst non MEAC or SWAC programs in the country

That’s pretty insightful actually. Seems like if you asked K he would probably tell you that different players need to be coached differently, and that other players need the exact opposite of that.
