I don’t know how to take this myself. This is a disappointment. Wow. This is HORRIBLE. I hope that we get someone that’s great to replace him. I’m going to leave the internet today. Wow.

I would not, I just hope a big name comes along I don’t care anything about anything else a qualified recruiter to bring in big time players and develop them as well. Like I said Coach beard is my first choice.
Bruce Weber is not a bad option.
How so…from a recruitment standpoint you’re sending in a member of the Fab 5 who won a championship with Lebron and can draw on those experiences when talking with kids who have idolized those types of players and he has spent a few years now learning under Spolestra who is regarded as one of the top 5-7 nba head coaches. An adjustment period maybe but idk how you can say a real bad hire.
And let’s be honest - apart from a miracle hail mary for Jay Wright, Tony Bennett, Chris Beard, or Brad Stevens (to a certain extent) - the fanbase will end up being split on the hire. Some people will think it is good and some bad. And in the end, only time will tell.
As a plus though, this forum will probably be the most entertaining place for the next couple months - no summer lull around here!

He has 0 college coaching experience, first off. That’s a huge deal imo. How many of these players really care that a guy from the Fab 5 is recruiting them? they were still at least 7 years away from being born when that team played. Chris Mullin just had an uninspiring time at St. Johns, Ewing seems to be possibly on the upswing at GTown, but Ewing had a lot more overall coaching experience then Howard, who’s only been an assistant for 6 years now.

I really feel for the players that signed on thinking Coach Beilein was there for their Michigan career. Do we still have people that have a problem with the transfer portal?

Not surprising that it’s relatively low. He negotiated his contract while he was entertaining NBA options.
Howard’s appeal to recruits is that he has spent the last 25 years in the NBA, not that he was on the Fab 5.

A lot of people wanted him gone a couple years back. Now he gone and no one can believe it. This really killed my mood. I think I’m done with the internet and sports. Hope saddi or yak are REAL options. No Franz… Maybe no zeb. Wow. I hope our next coach is a familiar face with recruiting talent and a defensive mind. There’s zero chance of Iggy coming back. This is really upsetting but congrats to coach B.
