Makes you wonder why Juwan’s violations of the coaching circle are the only ones that makes Turgeon angry. It’s not like every coach does it and some are famous for it (Izzo). I wonder if there’s anything different about Juwan that would make Turgeon angry. Hmmmmmm.

Oh, come on. For all we know, he’s mad about Izzo too; it just hasn’t come up.
Besides, in his presser, he was talking about the first two games and complaints to the commissioner. I really doubt he called up and said, “Mr. Warren, sir? Coach Howard was out of the box again…”

He’s been coaching in the big ten for nearly a decade and has never tried to fist-fight Tom Izzo before. Pretty sure that Izzo has argued a call while outside of the coaching box. Maybe once or twice I think!

EDIT: After watching Juwan’s humble and frank interview, I think this might be something that gets put to bed pretty quickly.

Mark Turgeon hasn’t stepped out of the coach box for 34 years. That should be on a banner in the Xfinity Center.

I hate it when coaches crowd the players and refs intentionally or not. I think Juwan often steps out of the box but he does it in a way to give the ref and players more room. Izzo often stands in allowed spots but it crowds everyone.

That’s my take too.
Guys I gotta say I agree with Turgeon on all of this. In fact, I think Maryland needs to show their support and sign him to a lifetime contract ASAP.
(Turgeon’s a JV-at-best coach who’s perfect for that fanbase as far as I’m concerned. Juwan clowning him multiple times a year won’t stop in the 2020-2021 season.)

Not a great look for either coach, but if the events are what they say they are it looks worse for Turgeon. He seemed really whiny in his press conference. Calling the commisioner? C’mon man!
The first game was certainly feisty as was this one and I think Turg is not a fan of them invading the DMV. If we look broader (given that Fran doesn’t seem to be a fan of Juwan and was lumped in on that one tweet) if “the league” has a problem with Juwan its because he hasn’t “gone thru the business” like them (hence the 34 years comment). Plus given the recruiting he has shown they know that Juwan is building something and want to knock him down a peg. Also given that Juwan played in the league and doesn’t look like them may play a role as well.
