I don’t have a strong opinion about these kinds of things in which you have two great PGs and no great SG so you put two PGs on the first team, but it feels right to drop Burke to second team and put the best SG first team. If that’s Oladipo, so be it. Increasingly, I’m feeling like Stauskas is the huge omission. Possibly a second-teamer.
I’m also thinking this makes no sense without Garza.
I went for just best 5, not so worried about positions. The Burke/Winston debate is interesting- highlights the hardest thing about this which is comparing guys who played different numbers of seasons. on Garza, based on the 2010-19 criteria you’re only including about two months of his incredible season and then a decent first couple years but nothing great. I think you should either include both Turner and Garza or neither.
All league teams aren’t usually beholden to such strict positional rules. Generally just need a couple Gs, a couple Fs, and a C.
I agree. And there’s an argument there, since Burke and Winston are both deserving and no SG really pops out as a first-teamer. But I’d almost like to see both versions – one like this and one with strict positions.
In which case Russell just does not belong at all.
Russell at least has a full season. Unless I’m misunderstanding the way they are talking about it, it’s literally the calendar years 2010-2019 so you’ve got half seasons at the beginning and end. It doesn’t really make any sense- maybe it is the 2009-10 season through 2018-19 season in which case I would revise and probably put Turner in there somewhere. It’s really a tough exercise considering all of the different tenures but I left Russell off of my top 3 teams because of only being there one year.
If you’re discounting people that really just had half a good season, then you’re discounting conference play and making non-con buyin games more important. Seems silly.
Kaminsky, Green and Turner on the 1st team
Here is Mike Hall admitting to putting Aaron Craft on his first team
Maybe we shouldn’t have let the BTN hosts have opinions on this. The Jordan Murphy video was exclusively Mike Hall and Rick Pizzo waxing eloquent on double doubles
I feel like that is pretty on brand.
Unsurprisingly he doesn’t mention the real reason he voted him when he listed all of Crafts accolades.
Simple answer: no
So how many games does a Taylor, Moore, Stauskas, KBD, Zeller team need to beat Team 3 in a 7 game series?
How many B1G POYs were left off all three teams? Just wondering how intensely to calibrate my feelings about Stauskas being snubbed…
KBD and Stauskas were the only exclusions out of POY winners
First team is fine, Second team is fine but generous to Happ IMO, Third team is total stank.
I would move JaJuan Johnson to Second team and drop Happ altogether.
