I would not touch any Purdue game. They seem so dependent on how many crazy 3s Carsen Edwards hits that they’re a coin flip. But then, I thought that UNC-Washington would be a game, so what do I know?
Your issue was in putting faith in a Big East team to win. I personally was going big on Purdue because I knew people would pick Nova to beat them, and then pretty much everyone would pick UT if it came to that. They’re a better team then people give them credit for.
Good for Donlon getting back as a head coach, but UMKC is a mess right now. Right now, there are NINE players set to transfer out. This includes players that have played the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and ninth highest percentage of minutes from this season. The player with eighth highest percentage of minutes played is a senior.
This is interesting. My impression before hearing this is that Donlon may have looking to jump the sinking ship that is NW. This only helps that thought if he is jumping into a dumpster fire.
At least Donlon would be able to get his culture guys in place right away. Sure, they may be plucked from pickup games at the Y, but he’d have his guys in place from the jump.
I know that this is a head coaching gig, but this still seems like his trajectory is going down. Assistant at Michigan >> Assistant at NW >> Head coach at UMKC. I had suspicions for what “UMKC” stood for but the fact that I had to look it up to confirm is pretty telling IMO
Did anyone think that he would get a high major head coaching job? It’s pretty simple, Donlon wanted a head coaching position and UMKC offered it. Maybe it’s different if he stayed at UM but I don’t see too many guys from Northwestern getting a head coaching job. Head coaching jobs just don’t grow on trees.
lol, that is pretty funny. It’s as you assume, University of Missouri at Kansas City. A pretty bad low-major program that has five winning seasons in the last 18 years. On the plus side I guess is that they only had three coaches in that span so he’d be given time to get his system in place.
