Big Ten Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

If psu is smart they’ll fight a ton to keep shrewsberry, flat out absurd to get outbid for him with tv money the b1g is about to get.

PSU has now been to more B1G tourney finals than Indiana.

Very shrewd.

Exactly, lol.

Funk is horrible at inbounding. Dude was open right away after he passed it to him out of bounds and cut and he didn’t hit him.

Strange

I had to rub my eyes to make sure that wasn’t us blowing a lead to Indiana.

Credit to Indiana though. That press was pretty fierce despite Penn st crapping themselves.

Even when they got it in, they barely got it in and Indiana forced them into the worst spots on the court.

also seemed to forget he could run the baseline most of the times

Pinkett might be the greatest IM player ever.

Shrewsberry is going to make bank on a squad full of 25 yr olds and booty ball. Good for him

I never seen a worse press break offense in a long time! Horrible.

You got your wish. I’ve (obviously) never been a fan of IU, but I was interested in seeing a Purdue vs IU B1G final. Having said that, I was pulling for Penn State and was pleased they won!

Portal scouting and the requisite roster building from there is by far the thing that most fascinates me right now. Funk definitely was not highly sought after, but he fit a need. Wynter was decently sought after, but they moved him from being a PG for 4 years to more off ball.

It just feels like if a coach can be really good at that they have a huge leg up on most. I know Dylan has mentioned that it seems like something that smart coaches could learn to exploit in that respect.

I would like us to hire someone to be a GM or whatever they’re calling it. Basically like what Shrews did with Brian Snow. But idk it seems like as a school we’re randomly cheap about stuff like that

Poor Toledo. For the 3rd straight year they will win the MAC regular season championship, and be the highest rated team on KP, but will not make the NCAA tournament,

Toledo really is something else. This has to be the biggest rank gap between AdjO and AdjD in the KenPom era. Amazing offensive stats and truly offensive defense.

Tod Kowalczyk is an underrated coach. Surprised he hasn’t been nabbed for a higher mid major or low end high major job. Defense is atrocious though

NCAA tournament appearances are usually what gets attention.

If I were him I might try for an A10 or CUSA job if one opens up.

Andy Enfield the ultimate example of this

Jim Groce is the one that comes to mind for me. Enfield seems decent. Groce was awful
