head coach. to bother kt even worse
Purdue is just comically bad against a press.
Refs have been atrocious here
We certainly could have made the tournament but I couldnât see this team in the Sweet 16 unless we got a big break in the draw (like playing the 14 seed in round 2). I donât think we had the same ceiling as last yearâs team. Too much inexperience and not enough depth.
Have to wonder how far Rutgers would have gone if not for that Mag injury
I definitely feel like last yearâs teams best games were way more impressive than this teamâs best games.
Nolan Richardsonâs teams would have had a field day against this Purdue squad
or peak Huggins Press Virginia WVU
It is so easy for me to cheer for both Rutgers and Purdue. Both teams battling, and especially Rutgers fighting with everything they have. I have GREAT respect for both coaches.
Only if he brings Zeb back
Simpson is terrific, and his interview after the game yesterday was outstanding! Very well spoken, classy kid who can really play.
I can guarantee you that Purdue fans donât think there is anything comedic about it. I can also guarantee you that Rutgers aggressive tenacious defense has a lot to do with Purdueâs struggles. Finally I can guarantee a coach as good has Matt Painter knows how to teach Press O, but sometimes in the heat of the momentâŚwell, theyâre still kids, their hearts are racing, the clock is ticking, and they can sometimes make mistakes.
Itâs a small thing but I would have announced this as (knee injury) not (knee soreness) if I were doing the official comms.
Iâm not watching (stupid workâŚstupid loss to Rutgers yesterday) but when a feisty defensive team like Rutgers starts pressing and it works, then two things tend to happen quickly:
1 - The opposing guards, especially if they are young, start making MORE mistakes.
2 - The refs start letting the pressing team get away with a bunch of fouls.
#2 is sort of like in football when your defensive backs grab all the time. The refs canât call all of it so they start letting some of it goâŚthen it gets worse.
Curious why?
Because there are even worse in the conference.
The (freshman) guard play is going to cost Purdue in the Dance.
Will MSU shoot >50% from deep for the fourth straight game?
soreness makes it sound like an elective, load-management sitout. comments all across the OSU blogosphere are calling him soft, quitter, bad teammate, etc. and/or that this is Holtmannâs way of calling him out.
I know the correct answer is that itâs none of the fansâ business, they donât deserve to be coddled for narrative purposes, etc. but just make life easier for yourself if youâre the official OSU account.
Even Rothsteinâs thing of âout (knee)â would be fine. âsorenessâ is a can of worms
over the past 25 hours iâve concluded that if college basketball fans are not the worst, they are not the best, either
