THIS is the perfect comment. Obviously if they lost the game it would be horribly bad for them. But if they won it ugly and then lost the next game they would be blaming the schedule. The culture is that everyone is out to get them and they are the victims.

I don’t need any more ammo to pile on Izzo but I can see where he would be upset here. Minnesota is pretty much as close to a “free” B1G win as you can get and because it doesn’t get made up that is one less win and potentially miss out on being in the tiebreaker group for whatever their win total is, plus 1.
Do you honestly think Izzo would have zero complaints if the game was rescheduled?
The narrative would just change to “Look how many games we had to play the last week of the season leading up to the Big Ten Tournament. I only have 7 players I’m comfortable playing and they all got overworked. We have tired legs for the tournament. No fair. Woe is me.”

In fairness I think it’s less “this is the culture” and more “this is Izzo.” None of the players there have really acted like that for a few years at least. Compared to a team like Illinois, for instance.

I can’t believe Izzo/MSU beat writers are still talking about the Covid season and different teams playing a different amount of games. And the beat writers always bring up how Michigan played less than 20 games. This is from Solari’s article today:
“MSU played every conference game during the 2020-21 season in the height of the coronavirus pandemic, when six Big Ten teams did not play the full 20-game schedule — including league champion Michigan, which finished 14-3.”
So pathetic.
