I’m also inclined to say that he is a big scary African-American and he can’t help that and the inherent bias that results.
They just called a 3 second call in the ILL/IU game and everyone lost their minds. To my untrained eye, it seems they could call that a ton more.
(Checks off “three seconds call” on mythical creatures seen list - leprechaun is next)
Rutgers beats Wisconsin by 1 at Kohl. Essegin was 0 for 10.
When you smack an opposing coach that’s the price to pay. We can dislike that but he will have to live with that the rest of his career.
How much EM per game does that translate to is the question?
I think that will be less of an issue in future seasons. But I do agree that right now he is seeing additional scrutiny because of last year (and potentially the blow up with Turgeon in the 2021 BTT).
I’m failing to see how the Wisconsin thing has anything to do with in game technicals. If he had hit a ref I can see it but if refs are factoring in the slap then they are wrong, plain and simple.
I’m obviously incredibly biased, but it is frustrating that krabbenhoft and their program isn’t held to a similar standard for shoving players to get to juwan to get in his face. juwan absolutely could not do what he did, but the perception of it is entirely “he slapped another coach” rather than “he slapped another coach directly after that coach shoved his players.” there’s lots of reasons for it - he’s more recognizable, he was clearly the initial aggressor, he did the worst thing - but it will bother me forever that Wisconsin successfully played it as if they were just minding their business rather than letting their guy with a history of escalating things escalate it
Refs are human and certainly prone to bias and error. I agree it’s wrong but it also wouldn’t shock me.
Has Juwan been T’d much this year? Am I missing something? He definitely seemed to earn the T at Wisconsin and looked like someone trying to get T’d up in a reasonable spot where guys always get T’d up.
Huge win for a Rutgers team that was flying wayyyy too close to the bubble.
I don’t really think Juwan has gotten unfair technicals. I think Underwood and Izzo have unfairly not gotten technicals.
“someone is wrong on a basketball court” is not too far from “someone is wrong on the internet”
Well, there are words you say and you’ll get a T. I remember Underwood got tossed from a game last year, I feel like he gets plenty of Ts.
Huge move to win by 1 and help Wisconsins Q1 status as much as possible while still getting the win
JHS with a brutal mistake to give Hawkins a pick six dunk, but then he redeems himself with a great foul line jumper.
67 apiece, IU ball, :43 left!
Wooooof, that call.
Ball don’t lie
Kelly P strikes again.
