The craziest thing is that NW got a Q1 win for beating an 11-13 team. Really a shame we don’t go to Columbus this year.
So Michigan probably wants them to win these games, right?
Jay Wright will probably be their top target.
I mean they can try, but there’s 0 chance Jay Wright left Villanova to be wooed back to CBB by OSU. He’s either done coaching or waiting for an NBA job
Osu has dropped 30 spots in a month. That’s a lot
OSU coming into tonight:
11-12
Q1: 2-9
Q2: 3-2
Q3: 0-0
Q4: 6-1
NET Ranking - 41
Someone make it make sense.
But they haven’t won a game in a month…have they?
“That’s a lot”…of losses!
Right! If you don’t win games, you should fall. A d probably more than 30 spots!
But for a team that’s lost 10 of 11 games, it doesn’t seem like that much. Just 3 spots per loss.
They look like a historic outlier right now. No one else in the top 40 on KP has more than 9 losses and they have 13.
It’s just margin of victory shenanigans (they lose by small amounts generally and trounced like 7 buy games by 35) and apparently no computer program can figure that out despite not having won since the Truman administration
Robert Morris by 38
Charleston Southern by 26
Easter Illinois by 21
Cincinnati by 28 (ok that’s ok)
St Francis by 37
Maine by 34
Bama A&M by 31
Balanced by 11 single digit losses
They have four (4) wins over the top TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY (250)
Cincinnati
Rutgers (which they didn’t, you know, actually win)
@Northwestern
And Texas Tech (who is pulling a similar “never ever win but lose every single game respectably” trick and is 1-11 in conference but still handing out Q1 wins everytime they lose at home)
I don’t want to demean the computer rankings and I’m sure Dylan will refute this but the fetishization of margin over result in a competitive sport where the point is, to you know, win, is a pretty glaring flaw in these as I think OSU has pretty conclusively established they cannot beat a team with a pulse.
I’ll have their “MOV over bottom 90 teams champions” banner ready by seasons end.
This team stinks.
@umhoops is there info on team’s PPP when they press? Purdue fans are claiming Iowa has an elite press after they could not break it
Iowa seems like a team that has lengthy personnel that might be better off pressing since their defense isn’t great.
I do like what Michigan has done, especially with the Jace group with leaning into a pressure look just for something different.
PSU is just so bad now. 8 minutes in and they have a single 3-point basket to show for themselves. Seth Lundy just got rejected by the rim on a dunk attempt and Michael Henn came up short on a 3-foot bunny.
They’re fun to watch when they make their shots, but when they don’t they’re basically unwatchable.
This is Maryland’s first home sellout in three years? I thought they considered themselves a basketball school.
Ha, and after all that, PSU is only down one.
they used em all up
I don’t like having to count on Maryland and Pitt. I don’t entirely trust these teams.
No fans in 2020-21.
Turg-manning in 2021-22.
