Interesting because I don’t really think of OSU as an older team considering their best player is a freshman.

Yeah they would.

I don’t think of Purdue or Illinois as young because Edey, Shannon, Mayer, Hawkins

Congratulations on your maturation process.

Both have basically all freshman starting backcourts though. Purdue’s is just good, Illinois’ … not so much. Not that they won’t get there, but they Epps/Harris (and formerly Clark) at PG is a big reason Illinois is so inconsistent.

I don’t think of my dad as old because he’s so strong

For the extra practices and games for the youngsters alone, I say they absolutely accept a bid.

Yeah, NIT would be crucial for Kobe/Dug in the backcourt for sure.

Several teams that played well in last year’s NIT are having nice years this year (Xavier, Texas A&M). Don’t think it hurts at all.

I think they accept NIT for sure. I am old enough to remember how the Traylor lead team in 1997 sort of resparked some excitement after the second fab five crew was underwhelming when they won the whole thing.

That being said…it is a sad day on this board when we are actually talking about the NIT bubble and what it takes to be accepted. Gross…

Yeah I’m not doubting the numbers are true, just saying that because of who the high profile guys are Indont think of them that way.

I was old enough to live through Ellerbe’s years. It sucked big time.

Hahah, yep. Those were the days when I had season tickets and went to every game growing up. Good old days.

Yep, I mistakenly was thinking of the CBI/CIT, not the NIT.

Gavin Groninger was going to be so good. (Actually seems like a pretty cool guy who is still a big Michigan fan).

My first live Michigan game was watching the final Mo Taylor team lose an exhibition to Athletes In Action

I remember watching Dom Ingerson in a summer run at camp and was convinced he would be incredible. That one went pretty far sideways!

I have (hopefully) improved at player evaluation since I was 12

Don saw where the game was going - he was taking Steph Curry threes

Disagree. The inconsistency is due to the system change mid-season and performance of Mayer, Hawkins, and Shannon. Epps has scored in double figures 10 of the last 12 games. He will end up borderline all freshman team.

Was anyone else here in Crisler when Tractor Traylor shattered the backboard? I’ll never forget that. I absolutely loved that guy as a kid. RIP.

He’s really talented, no doubt. It’s just really hard to be a good offensive team without an obvious identity and with a freshman point guard.
