You can’t tell a lot from a boxscore but I think both teams had different ideas in mind with this game. Maybe the eye opening thing was Ivey with 9 turnovers woof.
Another thing from the boxscore Nate Watson 38 minutes played and 9 fouls committed for the Friars.

Murray’s hype is coming from his rate stats being extremely good last year. 7th in Big Ten in OR%, 12th in DR%, 3rd in block%, 13th in steal%, while flashing good athleticism and decent shooting touch.
Now his age is obviously a conundrum complicating the analysis. I mean he was a freshman putting up those insane rate stats on a good team. That rarely happens. From Torvik’s database, here is a list of all freshman seasons since 2008 in a high major conference (>40% minutes cutoff) with at least 110 O rating, 9% OR%, 18% DR%, 2% steals, 6% blocks, and 55% eFG% and TS%:
Anthony Davis - Kentucky
Onyeka Okongwu - USC
DeMarcus Cousins - Kentucky
Joel Embiid - Kansas
Keegan Murray - Iowa
Now if you get rid of the freshman limit and look at all players, you get 18 more seasons of mostly great players with occasional merely good ones.

Him and “turnover triple double” Curbelo are going to be, uh, at the very least quite entertaining if nothing else.
Do you have the list handy? Would be interesting to see what happens when someone posts those numbers and then returns, as opposed to being one and done. Usage rate is the other obvious difference, too.

Easy to search whatever criteria you want under his tab Player Stats. Just change the year to All instead of 2022 default. Then change the criteria along left side and it will instantly update. I usually set conference at High Major to cut out all the tiny conference players that make up a bulk of the names.
