Ron Harper Jr. is one of the more overrated players in the BIG. If his shot isn’t working he is useless.

This is my top 5 list.

However, I think it will be
Kofi
HD
TJD (ITH probably has him at 1 or 2 increasing his average position)
Liddell
Ivey

Useless seems a little harsh considering he’s only been an ok shooter in his career yet has been a positive player. I like him

Regardless, @kcg was asking for guys that wouldn’t be considered on most top 25 lists, but I’d think RHJ is going to be on most anyone’s B1G top 25.

And I will retract my useless claim and say he is just above just being a guy. But experience does count for something.

In some ways he’s a bit like an Eli Brooks type of player. He does some good things, he helps your team, he’s experienced, you want him on your roster…but no one is going to argue he should be at the top of this list.

Among Big Ten players, which starting fours would you rather have on your team than Ron Harper Jr.?

Maybe Murray (more potential less proven), maybe Nance and probably Scott? Not sure I’d take Hauser, Grandison, Gillis or Race over him.

in a perfect world, Caleb Houstan

Finally. I was going to make this list if nobody else did!

I could be 100% wrong but with all these rankings of top college players IMO Moussa is getting overlooked. I know sometimes I even forget he’s a top-15 recruit with elite caliber defense. My point is I’ve got him as a sneaky candidate to have an outstanding and underrated season

He may not be our best player but he might have the most impact when on the court this year (outside of Hunter and Caleb)

I would enjoy that. In my head I am picturing a season like GR3 where he starts, plays a lot, has some impact plays and looks like a pro at times, but isn’t a main focus of what they are doing. Not the same type of role, just the same type of contribution. Other guys will be doing the heavy lifting most of the time but he makes some important plays in small doses on both ends of the court.

Yes, exactly. Like the reverse layup he had vs Kansas similarly I could see Moussa having a crucial block or defensive sequence impactful as you put like GR3

Every time I rewatch the Kansas game I’m always struck by how I remember the heroics of Burke and McGary so clearly but totally forgot GR3 had 3 huge steals for dunks down the stretch. On one of them the defender was right on his heels and he used every single bit of his wonderful graceful athleticism to get that dunk down. I really focused too much on his limitations when he was here and didn’t appreciate what he was so good at.

Harper by far over all of those

No good athlete.

Seems like certain guys are standing out a bit more than others

If Brandon Johns is the third best player on our team, is that good or bad? I think that means Juwan’s finally unlocked all of his potential, no?

I would guess his middle position has more to do with him being a returning senior / technically a returning starter.
