Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

Eh. I mean. Their problems were that they started two bad/meh offensive players in Charles/Poole and had zero depth.

If Jordan played up to his potential then they maybe could have been way better on offense but I don’t think it was a team chemistry thing

February 2013 was a very frustrating month. Some legendary games in there but also one of those years where everyone is so well scouted and it’s just a real grind. The postseason was a shock to me.

February 2014, in contrast, was just pure joy.

I was living in Iowa City during those two seasons. I attended 5 games in person, four during 12-13 and one during 13-14:

12-13:

  1. Michigan at Wisconsin (the Brust half court shot)
  2. Michigan vs Wisconsin Big Ten Tournament
  3. Final Four vs Syracuse
  4. Natty vs Louisville

13-14:

  1. Michigan at Iowa (Michigan loses by approximately 47 points to a shitty Iowa team in a year where they go 15-3 in Big Ten play)

It was not a good couple years for my in person attendance :joy:

I still marvel at what a great deal it was. I paid $20 for that MSU game at home, $20 for that legendary overtime vs OSU. $25 for the Indiana game. I kicked a chair in Crisler at the end of that game and broke my big toe.

Being able to see a broken toe as a great deal shows great open-mindedness and perspective. It’s not the situation, it’s how you look at the situation!

LOL. Well it did not cost extra…

Forgive me if this is a dumb question…but how does a 2-star end up at IMG?

He wasn’t even on the travel team

He’s going to redshirt per the Detroit News

IMG has like 6 different teams. But he wasn’t on the national team (Jett, Bradley, etc.), and he wasn’t on the post-grad team, so I’m not sure which one he was on. I think the next level below national only plays other Florida teams

A real who’s who list right here.

I was actually wondering if he was a walkon…

Supposedly a scholarship guy.

Izzo keeps on reinforcing my opinion that he’s on his late carr/dantonio path

I thought maybe he committed as a preferred walk-on. No, I really did.

Whoops, there I go commenting before reading all the responses.

Well, in the day of the portal, from the kid’s point of view, go to State for a year or two, see how it goes, then transfer to Vermont or Duquesne
