I count 6 breweries less than 1 mi from the UC, not to mention the best burger in the city, and a very legit brew pub. Maybe you guys all decided to walk west for some reason.
All day long. Chicago is horrible for a fan that spends the day watching games.
Fingers crossed that Milwaukee is next.
Wells Fargo Centre in Philly.
We talking Au Cheval??
The Loyalist. Au Cheval is on all the lists and tbh not that much farther but I figured I would draw a smaller circle than that. The only thing I can imagine is people don’t like to walk.
who would you consider the B1G host school in Philadelphia? Rutgers, Maryland, or PSU?
Brendan Quinn
Was genuinely curious, thanks. I make it to Chicago once or twice a year and will add The Loyalist to my list of places to check out.
Jawn University
Pumped for BTT at Target Center (as a MN resident). Its an awesome location downtown with a ton of food/restaurants/bars/hotels all within steps of the arena. Plus everything downtown is skyway connected, just in case its freezing outside in mid-March.
I love that Skyway and I like the city a lot too. We used to come there a fair bit for concerts at First Ave, seemingly always in December. Wandering around the Skyway was kinda like a video game – do a thing in a building, and then on to the next level. Reminds me of Toronto’s underground system responding to the same weather.
Chicago is the worst Big Ten Tournament site by far. Awful experience. Not sure it is even up for debate.
Put it in the Twin Cities. Or Milwaukee.
know what, put it in Detroit. Let’s have something different, who decided Indy is the epicenter of the midwest i don’t get it.
EDIT: Put it in Nebraska, give those guys something.
That’s just bananas to me unless you mean something specific to being inside the UC
Agreed. Anyone making the trip will absolutely love downtown Minneapolis as a host. I can’t wait!
I have 1/2 season tickets to the bulls. I’m pretty sure UC is indistinguishable from any arena in the country.
I think the pain comes down to the fact that while UC has lots by it (like the whole Randolph street corridor), most hotels are a hike.
Bad location for the stadium and no one in the city even knows the BTT is going on. Doesn’t feel like an event at all.
I totally agree, ridiculous how often indy gets it. B1G is full of public universities and Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Omaha etc. all deserve the economic support from hosting. I think b1g should have a rotation and each year a school is the host and gets to pick the neutral site(obviously within certain requirements).
