Way better for the Big Ten when the big brand schools are good IMO… If Indiana and Ohio State are drawing elite talent it is good for the league. 2013 was such a fun season. Nothing really compares to the environment at Assembly Hall.
I actually don’t think it hurts teams much for other teams in the league to be really good. Indiana becoming good doesn’t mean a negative impact on Michigan or Michigan State, etc.
Woodson has been good and deserves a ton of credit for starting out well. Some people were clearly too harsh on the hire. But I think the lion’s share of the criticism was directed towards IU fans and their delusions. I remember being especially miffed about how they downplayed Beilein’s coaching.
Let’s see what gets put on the court. Not that I’m betting against woodson in any way, but I’m also not blown away. Indiana is not a hard place to recruit to.
Yep. Even Archie recruited five stars/high four stars (Langford, TJD, Lander) and didn’t have much success. It’s not to say Woodson will be remotely similar, but you can’t judge the product until you see it.
What an insanely careless hyperbolic statement. There can be no debate about “Best Coach” for any conference in which Francis McCaffery holds residence.
