Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

I thought I heard during the season that Iowa hasn’t had a first round pick in forever. Definitely under Fran they haven’t. Now I’ll have to do some digging…

Edit - Ricky Davis in 1998 (who I have no memory of). Also Acie Earl in 1993 went #19. I do remember him and he actually might be a decent comp for Tarris Reed.

2014 was close if Payne was 1 pick earlier, Stauskas, and Vonleh we’re lottery, Payne went 15

I’m hoping this is an April Fool’s joke, but not sure…

Davison played in over 30 games the year they’re claiming he’s receiving the hardship for. Thinking it’s a (very not funny) joke.

“Ha Ha bet you thought your balls were safe here we come again because no one else is willing to stoop to our level” is a funny joke.

If you’re a certain type of person.

You know it is a joke because even Wisconsin fans are tired of him now.

This particular announcement is not entirely unexpected, but the key phrase is “maintain his college eligibility.” I

Dot says he’d be surprised if Christie returned to MSU :eyes: presumably meaning even if he came back he might transfer

I would love this scenario because there are a lot of presumptuous reactions to his declaration on twitter/reddit/etc. They’re all comfortable praising it because they just assume he’ll be back. I want to see the shocked Pikachus when he withdraws and transfers

Oh really I can suggest a potential landing spot

It would be interesting to see how MSU will fare if the rumor is true. So I’m assuming that they’ll roll with Hoggard and Akins backcourt and likely Pierre Brooks as the 3rd G. They’ll sorely miss Bingham’s rim protection and Gabe Brown shooting at the 4. The wing players aren’t great so I’m guessing Izzo will go to transfer portal to find wing players

Tyson Walker will be back too

I was under the impression that he’s a senior but :man_shrugging:

he has another year of eligibility and the WOTS is that he’s a lock to return, not testing draft waters at all

He has 2 years of eligibility left but yeah he’ll def be around next year

Izzo is going to try and take a big bite off the transfer portal tree this year…he may not like it for the “state of college basketball”, but he likes it for the “state of his basketball program”
