There is no reason that Notre Dame should have jumped us.
Looks like Bracket Matrix updated and we’re holding steady. We’re in 133 out of 142 so decent representation. Not sure all have updated but we’re near top of 11 seeds in the consensus so we’ll see.
Awesome thanks. I think we are in.
I can live with Dayton if need be.
We would have to fall to the 12 line to be in Dayton correct?
I’m not sure but seems like they are putting the play in games at the 12 line. Although in other years it was 11 so it may depend.
San Diego State wins.
Hopefully that keeps them a quad 1 win. Now I’ve got to go to sleep. Night all and let’s go Iowa and Purdue.
Exactly. It’s not a lack of effort. And I’m not one to completely discount the possibility but this team does try, they’re just not very good.
I think someone said it best, watching other teams play reveals just how unathletic we are. Diabate is our only plus athlete, everyone else is made to look slow by Eli Brooks of all people.
They try at times, but we have quotes from the team and coaches admitting they don’t always bring it.
I mean, as jemblue said, they’re never going to tell the media or anyone else ‘we’re just not that good, man lol’
Of those that have seen the floor, I would say that Diabate, Collins and Bufkin are athletic.
Being an athletic team can hide or overcome a lot of issues. If you lack athleticism, you need to be really skilled or proficient to be successful and we are not.
Of course not, but Johns and Martelli seemed pretty sincere. Like they were venting frustration.
It’s more than that. The fact is people are objectively terrible at coming up with reasons to explain why things happen, or why they did something.
But then another issue is that a lot of our guys lack strength. I think that shows with how we struggle to finish through contact. All the freshmen could use a summer with Sanderson.
Pretty much everyone on the team has some kind of major flaw that we have to gameplan around (or hope our opponent doesn’t exploit).
Wow. I can’t emphasize how much I disagree with this take.
Yeah, these kids put in a lot of work on their craft. The easiest explanation is that they are not a talented team and they had to play a lot of games in a short period of time. Don’t need to question their effort or desire without at least starting there.
I’m going by what the team and coaches said. It’s not my opinion. I know they bust their as**s working on their craft, but the required effort to succeed in games on a consistent basis at this level has not been there. Again, not coming from me. See quotes from Martelli and Johns.
Would you rather they say, “Man, I was just tired, couldn’t get my legs under me on some of those threes.” Or “I can’t guard Keegan Murray.”
I turned on this game late only to see Iowa drain 3 straight 3s and close the gap, how did Indiana build a lead in the first place?
If you watched the last 12 minutes of our game with IU - well, you get the idea.
Actually, they played through TJD, got some drives from Johnson, and a couple of three.
