Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

Yeah I’m with you. Misunderstood the original post.

its the only one that would get us Illinois on Friday

I love this place!

They’d be 21-13 (11-9) with probably 3 more Q1 wins so I would say it would be a huge resume upgrade. No idea how much though.

With 3 extra Q1 wins? Sure we would. Look at the difference between Michigan and MSU’s resumes. There’s about 10ish teams separating us and MSU right now and the only difference is like 3 extra Q2 wins on MSU’s resume.

So is Nebraska going to end up finishing 13th in the B1G after starting 0-12 in conference? How does a team finish 1-9 at home and 3-7 on the road including beating the conference champ?

I don’t think its impossible.

Looks like we’ll need Iowa to win to avoid Illinois.

The “best” team in the conference would’ve really helped us out here by beating the worst team at home.

Not saying it is impossible. Just love how the narrative changes so quickly.

Seriously, you have to give them and Hoiberg a good amount of credit. They were left for dead (remember it was being asked if they would even win a league game) and now in the last week have won @ OSU and @ Wisconsin. Pretty impressive!

It is pretty wild. When I heard Hunter was out I would have given us about a 1% chance of winning today. But dudes like T Will and Devante are playing their best basketball down the stretch and I think we are a really dangerous team with Hunt back

So they hop 12 to 15 teams and those other teams have no shot to maintain their own seed? So a few conference tourney wins eliminates their past 30 games? That doesn’t make much sense.

18-1 MSU lead for real? Lol

IIRC, we were not happy with that 7 seed. There was discussion of possibly 6 or even 5.

Yep. Which made me think that Michigan might have been closer to the bubble before the BTT started than we thought.

I do remember the committee also saying afterwards that Michigan was locked in as a 7 seed regardless of the result of the championship game.

Torvik tool predicts a 5 seed if U-M wins out but that feels a bit high to me, especially with the BTT final being right before the bracket.

Figure that a 6 or 7 is in play though.

Thanks for nothing Maryland. Smh

Love Barttorvik but his projections for Michigan have been the outlier all year. Would love for him to be right though!

Under that scenario that should mean they’re a lock for the tourney as of now. Do people really think it’s such a lock right now?

I know Maryland has been playing better lately but they look absolutely awful

It seems like the committee decides at some point in the weekend “All right, here’s our S-curve, we’re not changing it” and then BTT wins aren’t worth as much.
