Dude can’t even get honorable mention?
And then a potential rematch with Iowa in the Semis. As hot as Iowa is right now, I’d rather play them on a neutral court than Purdue or Illinois.
And yes, I know I’m getting way ahead of myself here.
The BTN is trash in every possible way. Production. Studio/Game personel. All of it.
This year they did learn the value of automatic monthly subscription renewals though for BTN+. So there’s someone in that office that has a sense of the idea that things can be done well, and you can go find the people who know how to do that and get them to advise you. And of course they can negotiate television contracts. When the light goes on about everything else they do…
He’s trying to get the OSU fans fired up for UM.
I can’t believe Williams and most of all Curry made it but not Eli. I get that some of those guys have more name recognition (for good reasons or bad) and Eli is quiet and more of a background player…but Curry isn’t good. Williams is a decent defender who had a one year aberration of shooting.
Maybe this pisses Eli off and he goes for 30 on Sunday!
Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t want to play Wisconsin again so soon. I don’t think it is set up for a triumphant Michigan performance. I would much rather let that cool off for a year.
I’d rather play Purdue and their bad defense before Wisconsin or Illinois. I’d rather play Wisconsin and hope they stop rolling snake eyes every game than facing off against Illinois.
But if there’s some way we can get a path through the BTT that includes mostly a combination of Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, PSU, IU, and MSU then that would be great.
That’s a make/miss question. We make our jumpers that day and we feast. We miss them and it’s just another awful humiliation. I might rather not find out myself, frankly. This seems to be Michigan basketball’s year for coming up just short.
Honestly playing the bottom dwellers is a scary proposition for me. They offer nothing for the resume and if we lose they’d be absolute killers for a tournament bid. I don’t think we are good enough to guarantee we beat them. And like I said, even if we did, it doesn’t help. There are two outcomes for those games. One is horrible and one doesn’t move the needle at all. Indiana is as low as I’d go for opponents. They’d still be on the edge of being a notable win.
If we lose to a bottomfeeder with that much on the line then let’s just be done with this season already and no longer worry about them having what it takes to save it. Just end it and enjoy the tournament for what it is.
I feel like our two Purdue games required an uncharacteristic outside shooting performance from Hunter and an uncharacteristic team shooting performance. Not sure I want to see what happens a third time against those guys.
Plus playing Purdue on Friday will also mean looking at Illinois the following day.
Getting the 8 seed will be Indiana → Wisconsin → Iowa/OSU/Rutgers. That’s much more manageable than Maryland → Purdue → Illinois imo.
Yeah, quietly Hunter forgetting how to make threes has been a drag the last couple of weeks. He had that amazing hot stretch and hasn’t hit one in forever it feels like. I know teams are doing more to take the shot away but he’s taken a few but they aren’t going in.
Teams are still getting out there to defend against it, so at least there’s that. For now.
Except last year. They lost the play in.
Well at least Izzo didn’t say that about their game at Crisler. He must not think M is any good because when his team loses to M his team was terrible or missing injured or sick players and it wasn’t anything M did.
Does he think ahead…at all. What does he think is gonna happen next year when the Sparties visit Columbus? I’m guessing Buckeye fans will remember his criticism of them.
Then, too, maybe he wanted a packed and raucous crowd when his “friends” from UM visit Colton Sunday.
Who knows what Tom thinks…or doesn’t?
If Indiana wins this I’m gonna puke
