It wasn’t but the refs literally GAVE it to them. Truly mind boggling.
Yeah I think Izzo is just gonna go in own his guys big time
He’s a one-man tribute band.
I am not kidding when I say I thought it WAS Dakich until I saw people on here indicating that it was Crispin.
Crispin is worse than Dakich. And I HATED Dakich.
OSU needs to really lean into Joey Brunk now. I want to see 30 minutes and a ton of post touches from him on Sunday
Time for Izzo to double down on publicly crapping on his team?
Not sure why Illini didn’t foul as PSU brought it up. They’re not in the bonus. Would have forced OSU to take it OB, instead they got a great look at three and made it!
I just looked up Brunk’s stats. 1.3 ppg and 1.0 rpg entering tonight. Wow.
Izzo won’t rip into his guys. Senior day coming up they’re making the tourney he knows it’s not worth it.
I will die on this hill: players shouldn’t be allowed to go to the bench, and should be allowed to eavesdrop. I don’t think you can set a timer on the refs because then if they miss an obvious call, it’ll be extra controversial. But at least take away unfair “timeouts” from the king reviews
I’m gonna need a postgame fight due to this timeout
You do know it’s Izzo right? I mean he did it on Tuesday. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t
ngl don’t want Penn State in the tourney
Actually me,too. I get it, but it just delayed the inevitable. Maybe they just wanted to p*ss us off!
Must be nice to play 60 point Illinois team
He was pissed because it was against their biggest rival coming off a big win against Purdue. He will be disappointed I would be surprised if he laid into the players publically.
Totally agree with the free timeout part. However with the timer aspect, I actually disagree. If it isn’t an obvious overturn at the first few glances, it should just be play on. I think the biggest issue with these reviews are when a player gets fouled with the ball, the ball then drops off his leg/knee, and then they have to call the ball goes to the correct team. When I think of keeping rules “in the spirit of the game” this is what I think of. Like refs decide to not call a foul to keep the game going or not give someone their 5th, but then the team that got fouled gets screwed.
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
I think Underwood is a good coach but I am ready for him to be without Ayo, Frazier, and Kofi. All those guys played at least one more year of college ball/one more year specifically playing at Illinois than conventional wisdom would suggest.
Imagine how mad the rest of the conference will be if with get a 3rd year of Hunter, or if Franz stayed for a 3rd year (granted he was lottery projection, Ayo wasn’t)
