Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

I think Izzo did a poor job last year with the pieces he had by the lofty standards he set for himself. This year he’s been mostly fine though he does still yo-yo playing time more than seems warranted based on who his best players are. As with Michigan and Juwan, we haven’t finished the book on this season yet. Either could make a good run or fall apart down the stretch.

I like Christie and Akins a lot so they will be good next year. Hall is solid too.

Lol…McCaffrey just went up trying to monster dunk on Liddell and got shoved in a trash can. Show some self awareness dude…take the layup!

And then Murray tried the same thing! Two huge blocks for Liddell in a row. I wish he didn’t play for OSU so I could like him more. Great college player.

Idk about very good next year, like most teams a lot of swing players that change things if they don’t go pro(christie) or turn down a 5th year(bingham and brown). If all three leave I think msu will be a bubble team barring some crazy transfer portal additions.

I agree with that, but with MSU I assume the best for them. I’m assuming Christie stays and Brown and Bingham leave. Theyll have to get a C in the portal though. If they run out Marble and Sissoko I’m less scared

I don’t see the fifth year guys coming back…but stranger things have happened at MSU. So you bring back Walker, AJ, Akins, Christie, Hall, Marble, Brooks…solid core. Weak at center.

Jordan Bohannon is the NCAA leader in games played LOL. Our kids are gonna look at some record books and think this J. Bohannon from Iowa is an all time great player

Lidell is awesome. He has that fat boy energy of every nondescript looking HS big boy who could make jump shots like Carmelo.

Am I crazy or did Liddell have basically no shotblocking ability before this year? Seems like he’s become a rim protector out of nowhere.

He’s always had ridiculous shot blocking instincts, was a great defensive player in high school. One of the reasons why I love him as a pro, I think there’s defensive upside there some don’t realize is there.

Looking it up, he was better than I remembered before this year, but he has taken a big leap forward this season.

Last year: 29.4 mpg, 31 blocks in 29 games
This year: 31.8 mpg, 54 blocks in 22 games

2.5 a game from a 6’7" guy, wow.

Everything magically fixes for them once it’s March though, gotta remember that

Juwan gets a T every time he raises his voice meanwhile I’m watching Izzo and Holtman go to town on the refs all day today

Holtman just went nuts on the ref after one of those annoying plays where Bohannon just throws himself into a defender and gets three shots. Went out on the court during a timeout to scream at the ref and had to be pulled back by his players. No technical.

I’m more appalled at the deference Bohannon gets from the refs.

lol Juwan would have been arrested for that with the Michigan Athletic department apologizing profusely for the warcrime and nuked the basketball program for 5 years.

Holtmann really “unhinged” there

That’s my coach :green_heart::white_heart:

This is funny because MSU fans on Twitter constantly puff their chests out about “no excuses Mel Tucker” but Izzo is the king excuse maker
