At this point, Dylan might have to create TrentFrazierHoops.com

Does Trent Frazier dance in warmups?

He’s either hot or he’s cold. He was cold for most of the game and then he got HOT when it counted! I just think the kid’s a flat out WINNER!

I love how Jay Williams was complaining about the spacing on the last possession and saying “That’s not what Brad wanted.” They were clearly setting up a 2v2 with Illinois’ best players. I wonder if Pasch was missing Walton!

MSU is like 1-4 since Izzo made that “We’re a top 10 team” declaration. Jinxed his own team.

Let’s give Dylan a few minutes of privacy as the president of the Frazier fan club. That was a heart breaking shot from him.

It was the press conference version of a floor slap…

MSU has lost 6 of 11 with last possession wins over Maryland and Minnesota in there. Now they finish at Iowa, Purdue, at Michigan, at OSU, Maryland.

They will finish 5-0.

That at Iowa game is going to be super interesting. Working under the assumption that Iowa loses to OSU that is going to be 2 desperate teams in need of a W.

Yeah I guess this won’t be true if they continue to collapse but I think 30-35 range was the expectation for the year

I guess if I was an MSU fan I’d also probably be melting down about Torvik splits

Trent Frazier is more valuable to the Illini than Curbelo imo

Yes by far

Reminds me a bit of Michigan’s first year under Juwan Howard. A bunch of early momentum out of Atlantis then trying to find it again for most of the year.

They really haven’t been a great team for a while now IMO. On track to be like a 6 or 7 seed? Not really exceeding expectations I’d say.

Don’t think there’s any doubt. Curbelo hasn’t really been a big part of their team this year. Frazier is best perimeter defender in the league and probably a 2nd team-ish all Big Ten guy.

And looking at the schedule.

At this time two years ago we were turning things around, though. We had slipped all the way to 11-8 overall but then won 8 of our last 12. Actually that year was sort of like this one.

Yeah, not an identical situation but just some similarities.

I was looking at MSUs resume. They beat Loyola and UConn by a combined six points in the preseason. It shows how narrow the margins are in this sport. If they lost those two close games their resume and the narrative around them is probably the same as Michigan.

I like to think we have the arrow pointed in the opposite direction, but there are a lot of tough games left for both teams.

Considering Izzo was acting disrespected that they were 26th rather than 25th in the preseason poll, if they get a 7 seed then they certainly didn’t exceed anything. Having said that, MSU’s been fine. They’ve played to their talent level overall and could be very good next year. I wouldn’t be raking Izzo over the coals, just like I’m not with Juwan
