Lol, we are technically one Wisconsin, Purdue, and Illinois loss away from controlling our own destiny and Purdue and Wisconsin still play each other.
Imagine if they didn’t blow that Minnesota game. How different would the narrative around this team be if they were sitting at 8-4, a game back of the Big Ten lead right now?
Tomorrow is a classic trap game for us with tired legs coming off a huge win. I’m thankful it is at home at least. I’m also thankful looking at those efficiency margins because…
We would have road losses to Rutgers and Illinois with COVID sit outs. And road losses to MSU and Purdue… We would literally be reading articles this morning about how Michigan is back to what everyone expected and is a darkhorse conference contender
It is hard to get the stink out of those other losses too (UCF, UNC, Arizona)…but plenty of good chances left. I do wonder what this version of Hunter who is shooting 41% from three on multiple attempts per game looks like against Arizona and UNC bigs. Drawing those guys away from the hoop starts to open up those Moe Wagner offensive sets for other players like we saw with Diabate last night.
Well, maybe he wasn’t ready then. This has been building. And maybe this is a reflection of whatever’s hurting him. Maybe that’s why he missed so many bunnies against PSU, and a few in this game too. Early in the second half the missed layups gave me UCLA PTSD. This is worrisome.
I think our schedule was just too hard out of the gate this year. We could have used a few more IUPUIs and Chicago States.
I agree. This team needed a slow liftoff and not a sink/swim
Arizona has proven to be elite this year. Seton Hall was the one I regret.
And effing Minnesota. FFS.
Seton hall hurts cause we had that game won. Minnesota hurts cause they suck
UCF hurts too because we had a 12 point lead in the second half
UCF and Minnesota are intense shooting luck games. The Minnesota one really hurts but I think the Seton Hall game is almost a worse loss in a sense where U-M lost it with execution and mistakes late.
Yeah, I mentally balance that out with us having the Nebraska game lost until Keisei Tominaga flipped absolute s*** after that bad foul call.
It was arguably too hard given what we learned about the readiness of some of the freshmen to play. But, it’s also what might get us into the tourney.
Nah. It was a good out of conference schedule with a balance of teams. We just didn’t take care of the winnable games against Seton Hall and at UCF.
it is strictly a hindsight comment
