It would be a shame if injuries derailed Iowa. They finally seem poised to do some damage in the tourney.

I can’t keep these straight, but doesn’t Kenpom theoretically have some recency bias baked in?

Sometimes I think that Wisconsin has some sort hypnotic control over KenPom

Yeah hopefully Weiskamp will be good by the NCAA at least. Hope he’s good for next week cause I was looking forward to their rematch against Illinois.

IIRC KenPom had to adjust his rankings several years back because it had been overrating Wisconsin to such an extent

We joked about how much Fredrick being out meant, but if Wieskamp’s injury is serious, I don’t see Iowa making any postseason noise. That would be a huge loss

I don’t think it’s much of an issue right now. Looking through the history Wisconsin seems pretty fairly rated based on results. Wisconsin is being propped up by a 50 point mashing of Louisville, win over Loyola who I think KenPom is overrating, and then they’ve been performing quite well against teams 7-14 in the B1G, usually covering the spread. They just can’t compete with the elite teams

I think I prefer the scenario where Iowa is the #3 and Purdue is the #4. I’d rather face Purdue/OSU in the quarters.
