Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 2)

I think 1 more wins locks them in unless Iowa/osu wins the big ten tournament and Michigan goes winless over the next 3.

Whoof. The season second-half swoon of the Gophers is staggering, even if led by Richie Inept.

Yes Minnesota has inexplicably just given up on their season.

I know Liam Robbins is out but WOOF.

I guess that happens with a ā€œlame duckā€ coach?

Thatā€™s a fascinating acid test in this scenario, though. About two, perhaps three games, ago, they could have made a nice run in the regular season and perhaps one to two wins in the tourney and that just may have saved their coach. Instead, a bullet train to quack quack.

The MN players are just being emphatic about it, in case the AD had second thoughts about retaining Pitino.

So how much longer before the Minnesota loss becomes quad 2?

Finally PSU justifies that top 40 Kenpom rating.

Oh Maryland

Is Chris Collins going to begin and end the Big Ten season with 3-game win streaks? Finale is vs. Nebraska.

Is there any chance there are co-champions even with the tie-breaking procedures being announced?

I think the announcement was mainly to eliminate that possibility.

Thatā€™s reassuring if true.

This might be an unpopular hot take but: If Michigan splits with MSU and finishes 14-3 and Illinois beats OSU to finish 16-4, M and Illinois should be declared co-regular season champs. The winning percentages are too close and obviously Illinois won the H2H, it seems completely unfair to them to not get a share. It would be completely unfair to give the title to Illinois so it seems co-champs is the most logical decision.

That being said, Michigan needs to make this point moot and beat the tar out of the angry little man.

I tend to agree with your point. Obviously if Michigan wins out, the point becomes moot. Hopefully thatā€™s what happens

Iā€™d completely agree with you, but Brad doesnā€™t care about Big Ten championships. So Michigan should keep this one all to itself thank you very much

I reached out to several schools regarding tickets to the general public. I was told via the Nebraska ticket office, whatever tickets are not sold over the next 2 days (by all schools) will be available on Ticketmaster Monday.

I think it would be somewhat unfair to them but not completely unfair. Itā€™s not our fault that three very winnable games werenā€™t rescheduled. Thereā€™s a good chance weā€™d have gone 3-0 against the IU/NW/PSU trio and that would have made it academic.

That said, letā€™s just win these two and eliminate any discussion about it. And if OSU wants to do us a favor, have at it!
