Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 2)

Two not one! Ouch

So is Kentucky forcing Justus out and moving Lucas back to a non-coaching role?

What’s the riddle here? Chin?

Ron Coleman. Apparently goes by chin.

Chin Coleman at uk will be a problem for juwan in Chicago

Eh Kentucky’s Kentucky, they are always going to recruit well no matter what, no matter where. Chin leaving Illinois is probably much better for Michigan from a Chicago perspective.

Kentucky fans seem pretty convinced Adam Miller is going to Kentucky as well. We’re going to be playing an honorary B1G team come December it looks like between all of these Illinois guys and Frederick.

Also sounds like Joel Justus may be on his way out as a Kentucky assistant, and Skyy Clark (5 star #12 player) may decommit as a result.

Who would be the frontrunner(s) for where he might end up?

Arizona was one of his finalists previously, maybe Lloyd makes a huge push for his first big splash commit

No clue. His top 4 when he committed were UK, Memphis, UNC and UCLA. He’s from Tennessee so maybe Memphis, but also if Justus goes somewhere else he may follow him.

I think Justus is getting a HC job at some stanky midmajor

Hmmmm uk needs a pg and curbelo is tied to Antigua…

Won’t happen but that meltdown would be epic

they are getting Miller though so that’s cool.

more realistically (?) I wonder if Plummer reconsiders his transfer

wow Illinois boards are actually freaking out about Curbelo lol

Btw I know it’s uk, but Illinois puts a ton of effort and energy and resources into basketball and are losing two assistants to an sec school. Between that and the lackluster hc hires in the b1g, not a good look for the richest, supposedly best and most supported basketball conference in the country.

the rest of the B1G can rot for all I care. as long as Juwan builds his monster they can all go 0-30 forever

I wouldn’t call UK an SEC school. They’re technically a member, but that doesn’t seem like part of their basketball identity. They don’t even have a conference rivalry they care about.

Gonzaga fans would be like “Michigan doesn’t play anyone.”

Something just seems…off…with Illinois. Successful season they had, sure, but still felt underwhelming. I didn’t like them in the NCAA because they were never able to string together 6 good games.

Now losing NBA talent (and Georgie!), losing unexpected transfers, losing assistants. Almost seems like people are fleeing from Underwood. Obviously if they poach Liddell that changes things, but I just can’t shake the feeling that they had their high point and now are on the decline.

Yeah I saw something that Ayo said recently about their team that they “put Illinois back on the map” or something. I was like, isn’t that something you kind of have to say in hindsight? Like this could just as easily be a fluke
