Is his new and exciting challenge related to the Big Ten?
I believe so, yes.
U think like the Big Ten Network?
Guessing btn or heās going a b1g staff as a director of player personnel(likely osu or Purdue). I will say this the basketball recruiting coverage side has lost A LOT in the last year or so between evans, snow and Daniels.
Yep guessing heās joining a staff. Vandy football hired Barton Simmons(247s director of football scouting) in a director of player personnel role in the past year and I bet snow is taking a similar role. Personally I think its very smart and think more colleges and nba and nfl franchises should be hiring these type of guys. They are incredibly well connected.
Also, I imagine the independent scouting services a lot of these guys run didnāt have a great year in 2020 with budget shutdowns (and no live events).
Could be psu too, snow is very in with brad stevens and Purdue. Shrewsberry has heavy ties to both.
Now you are getting warmer
I guess I donāt see as much value in a player personnel guy in CBB as I do in CFB. Rosters are just so much smaller and recruiting is āeasierā due to stuff like the shoe circuits. Could he be getting an assistant coaching role?
Idk in todayās transfer world, especially at a place like psu, I think thereās immense value in having a guy like snow working the back channels(a guy like snow knows those channels better than just about anyone) and seeing whose going come available and start the recruiting process.
Maybe. Iām not an expert on the workings of a HM college program. But transfers you literally are not allowed to recruit them until they enter the portal from what I understand. Would be naive to think it doesnāt happen but is that really gonna be the difference in landing one? Good for him though, and probably good Shrewsberry is thinking outside the box.
But you can tell their AAU coach you are interested in them. If you donāt think transfers are being recruited before entering the portalā¦ Iāve got news.
They have 6 guys in the portal, only 1 incoming recruit. Only 2 rotation guys still there itās a complete teardown and having someone like him should help. They are years away from winning something tangible but you have to start somewhere.
For example, I know for a fact that Marcus Bingham has been getting a heavily recruited through his AAU coach from a certain local program.
what program is more local to Grand Rapids than MSU? or youāre saying MSU is re-recruiting him not to transfer?
I meant local to Detroit.
ah very interesting. his PT finally ticked up and it made MSU a lot betterā¦wonder what he would look like at a mid-major with 30 mpg and a starring offensive role
Yeah it would be interesting. Personally, I donāt get why Bingham would transfer that far down, so I doubt itās gonna go through. Youād figure if heās transferring itās to optimize his chances of getting to the pros, which wouldnāt be happening at a low major. Theyāre delusionally confident about their chances though.
maybe he is addicted to Coney Islands
